One Small Step for BabyGirl, One Giant Leap for Her Mama

BabyGirl is leaving in the morning with her Grammy & Pa to spend a week in Tennessee. She's never been away from home for more than one night. I've never been away from any of the FarmHands for more than 3 nights in a row & most of those were spent in the hospital delivering siblings. I'm sure we'll all be fine.

BabyGirl is stoked. When it was first suggested that she go home with them, she was very unsure. Then she decided not to go. After a few hours, she changed her mind & we started packing. She is busily planning a week sans siblings. She's very excited to help Grammy watch HT for a few days.

I flip flop a great deal on this one. I'm so excited for her. I'm so glad she decided to go. I'm glad she's being brave. I'm looking forward to more time to spend with the boys & a few less fights. I'm nervous about being so far away from her for so long. But I'm pretty sure once the week is over I'll wonder where it went.

Growing up, I spent many, many weeks away from home. It wasn't a huge deal to find us spending a week with this aunt & uncle or a set of grandparents. My kids haven't had the same adventures. Husband is wary of letting them go because of things that went on in his extended family when they were little, so this is a really big step for him. I'm very proud of how he's handling it thus far.

I know my daughter & my parents are going to have a wonderful week & I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when she comes home!
