Robert Grant, the supervising FBI agent on the Blagojevich case, said that if "Illinois is not the most corrupt state" in the nation, "it is a hell of a competitor."
This is the political machine that spit out our new president. Makes me wonder.
And I just heard that someone posted our Senate Seat for sale on eBay!

There's some hope with our president-elect...his appointments so far are an unlikely mix of bipartisanship and standard paybacks. I will continue to be optimistic. Besides which, if you learn to play the game like with the masters, it's easier to change the rules.
Sorry - should be "if you learn to play the game with the masters..."
I have actually bid for the post on E Bay. So far I am up to £3.50. Do you think I'll get it ? If I do, I'll make sure you all are alright ! Just hope my Englishness doesn't go against me.... still I suppose a few pennies in the right direction and they'll ignore that too... S
Go Sarah! I think you should be in good contention, and I think your Englishness will serve you in good stead...and serve as a fabulous excuse for doing things the right way... "Sorry darling, I'm English. I didn't know that you should take a bribe here in the States." :D
And, you could probably call us "colonials" and get away with it, seeing as you'd have had the highest bid!
hee hee...ok, that was bad and mean...
How creative! I would never have thought about putting it on Ebay!
This just dawned on me after reading Drudge Report's latest....
Is it just me, or does the criminally minded and sociopathic gov' slightly resemble a rather ugly, in need of a haircut, roly poly Tulsa's Blinking Lightbulb? I think it's the pompous ass attitude that makes the resemblance uncanny. Going to wash my whole self with bleach now......and thank God for saving me from that.
