That's what Friends are for...

Keep smilin'
Keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me for sure
that's what friends are for
In good times
And bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Whatever, Stevie.
Friends are really for:

Times when you hyper focus on one area of your life & can talk about nothing else. Friends will listen to the same thoughts over & over for weeks without getting sick of you. They will understand that sometimes you just need a sounding board for the 8 million thoughts swirling in your head. They may offer advice, but will never be offended if you choose not to take it.

Nights when you just want to drive around town singing Tom Petty at the top of your lungs out the open windows of your min-van startling old ladies stopped at red lights.

3 am trips to Waffle House for hash browns with ranch dressing and hot apple pie with butter.

Laughing at Britney's latest antics and then psychoanalyzing her as you set in the floor of your closet with the telephone.

Sharing Dove chocolates, pop-ice, dancing the circle, and re-writing most of Pearl Jam's discography with a Hybrid II ink pen.

The silly and the serious.

Praying for you when times are hard and can only get harder (divorce and death). Rejoicing with you in victories small (an overabundance of bras) and large (new loves).

OK, so maybe Stevie and I are saying the same thing. What do others have to say about it?

Many thanks to Friendship.com

Thank you my dearest friend. I thought I had moved past the tears but apparently not. I love you.

you have shared some ideas/thoughts of friendship in what I think of you. Even though we have not physically met yet. Someday we shall..Or maybe we did meet on the otherside of the veil, and were meant to meet via internet? I don't know..But I treasure your friendship, kindness and love.
