Pa's Pride and Joy

I asked Miss Jill (the school secretary) about the coloring contest BabyGirl won. It was for the local Farm Bureau. She really did take first place! It's a little hard to get info out of her (especially reliable info...lately she's been telling me that fairies, elves, and leprechauns are real. "Really real, in real life, Mom. Mrs. G told us so."). Her picture was taken for 2 local papers (neither of one we get, so I have to go on the hunt). I emailed Q.M. and Daddy with the news. Here's Daddy's response:

Be sure to get an extra copy of the newspapers so we can show them off to all our friends and all the people we happen to run into on the street and to the people that are stuck in traffic next to us or to the church (How DID that get into the powerpoint presentation?) or any other unsuspecting person that just happens to make eye contact.
Did I go overboard?
Surely they all want to know, don't you think?

I better start making my list so I can mark them off as they see it.

Yup, that's one proud Pa, folks. Have you seen the TLC Life Lessons commercial where the guy has a black eye from trying to show off pictures of his new baby at the urinal (it's #73)? That's my dad. Gotta' love him...also gotta' take the hand cuffs away he uses to chain coworkers to their desks until they have seen the newest photos of his grands.

How can one have heartburn and be starving at the same time? I'm going on day 3 of it. Yuck.

Husband has to work over tonight and go in early tomorrow. He'll get 8 hours and 45 minutes off between shifts. He is tired & went back to bed after taking BabyGirl to school. As he was on his way to the bed room, #1 Son intercepted him and demanded a piggy back ride (his new favorite thing to do with his dad). Husband said not now, he needed to rest. He'd give piggy back rides later. "If you give me one now, I'll give you some of my money." #1 Son got his ride & Husband graciously let him keep his money. It was so sweet.
