B.B. fell asleep and I did get to watch part of Titanic after all. It doesn't matter how many times I watch that movie, I always cry at the same scene. The one where the mother (who has realized she will not be able to get her children off the boat) is tucking them in to their bunk & telling them one last bedtime story. Every time. Even if I'm not really watching the movie.
After #1 Son's temp hovered around 103.0 most of the night, I called the doctor's office this morning. Doc is out of the office for the week...not good, especially since his NP has just moved to another office in another town. So instead of a quick trip to the doctor's office, I spent all morning at the ER. It was easier than trying to get into another doctor's office. #1 Son has a double ear infection and an inflamed throat. He's on antibiotic and ear drops. I called the ENT's office to see what they'd say about his tubes on Wednesday. The receptionist said it would depend on what the anesthesiologist said. I'm hoping they'll still do it.
When I got home from our trip to the hospital, I found a very floral package waiting on the kitchen counter for me. Art sent me an address book, a memo pad, a journal and 4 books to share! Now I have I Love Everybody (and Other Atrocious Lies) & The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club both by Laurie Notaro and Kiss My Tiara & Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress, Tales of Growing up Groovy and Clueless both by Susan Jane Gilman to add to my reading list. If you read mybook meme you may know that I am a sucker for a pretty, eye catching book cover. All four fit my requirements! In fact, I Love Everybody (and Other Atrocious Lies) caught my attention at B&N when Q.M. and I were there last week. My first thought upon reading the title was, "Oh, this book is so very Art the Omnipotent!"
Confession time: I have yet to cut out the fabric for my dress. Please do not tell Did. She may strangle me. There was a March 1st deadline for having your dress ready that I was given permission to thumb my nose at as my shape is changing daily...but I did plan on having it done by this time. I got the house all clean last week in preparation for beginning the dress. When it came time to lay out the fabric, I nearly had a panic attack. It took a while for me to figure out my issues with it (the pattern is simple, I sew can do this...couldn't help it). Instead of taking the dress one step at a time, I was worrying about how to fit it to me and how to set the zipper...many steps in the future. I finally decided to set it aside for a time when I was calmer and more prepared for it.
It really isn't a big deal as I get a little obsessive when I sew...forgetting to eat, staying up too late, ignoring everyone in my house hold, forgetting to wash dishes, pretending there isn't a small mountain of clothing to be folded, letting the kids stay up past their bedtimes because I don't want to stop sewing long enough to tuck them in...it can get bad. I figure once I set down to work on it, I won't get up until it's done. I know I'll have it done at least a week before the wedding (as I plan on wearing it to church on Easter Sunday). Don't panic, Did! I promise to get working on it very soon. I must clean the house and get through the kids' surgeries on Wednesday. Then my calender will be cleared.
Good news: My friends have had babies. JR. and Jill (who was going into labor early while on vacation) had their baby last night. A girl I believe. Mom and baby are doing well. And Rebecca (who struggled with horrible morning sickness and early labor) had her baby girl last week. Thank you, Lord! Both babies are answers to prayers!

Good luck with the surgeries. I will be praying for you. I just took Yin to an NEW ENT, and the old was...well... different.
He got a ton of wax out of her ears. Nothing comes out at all. :(
She did just great.
Check out my potty post. I am so excited I am about to potty. :)
