I Should've Seen it Coming.

The pups turned one month old on Friday. There are only 3 left, but they are healthy and fat and growing. Soon it will be time to send them away to live. One of the mostly black ones is a female & the other two are males. They really are cute. I hadn't seen them in a while (I don't make it out to the shed very often) and they seemed huge today!

And Husband finished up the kids' fort. At least I think he's finished...I think that alot and then find him working on something I thought complete. Now if only it would warm up enough to take the kids out to play. That 80 degree weather last week spoiled me briefly. When I did laundry yesterday I found shorts and winter clothes in the same hamper.

One thing I will totally blame on the weather is #1 Son's developing ear infection (this is what I should have seen coming). After church today he complained of a stomach ache. His nose was a little runny, but not enough for medicine. He still ran and played like normal until I turned on Spongebob so I could get ready for a party. I didn't think much about it.

We headed out to the birthday party (for a friend from church) and I figured he'd fall asleep in the 5 mile drive. He didn't, but he was lethargic through the entire party. He didn't even want to eat the icing off his cake or play pin the tail on the donkey. He laid his head on the table and hardly spoke to anyone. After a while he told me his ear hurt, so I rounded up BabyGirl (who was busy chasing a boy she knows from school) and B.B. and we headed home.

He was outside just long enough to see the finished fort and show the puppies to Uncle E and Aunt C, then I brought the boys back in. #1 Son's temp is 100.0, so I gave him some Motrin and tucked him in. I'm afraid this will put off his surgery on Wednesday. I doubt they'll put tubes in ears that are already infected...but if they wait for them to clear, we may never get it done. I'm trying not to stress out, but it isn't easy. I was just thinking we'd been quite a while without an ear infection...that's what I get for thinking.
And to top it all off, my wonderful, fabulous, kind and caring nurse practitioner (who incidentally, I just found out is the niece of the woman who's party we went to today) has left our doctor's office. Apparently she got a better offer from another doctor in a town about 45 minutes from here. I am sad. I really like our doctor, but she saw us more often and knows us better.

So now I'm tired and frustrated and I want to watch Titanic on TBS...but instead I'm watcing Cars for the 8 millionth time. At least it's quite here...for now.

I LOVE the fort! I think it's great your hubby is so interested in doing something fun for the kids.
Sorry about #1 son's temp. I hope he's back to normal in time for his surgery. My gkids pass that stuff around. I had Eliza at the doctor on Thursday, but she felt better by that afternoon on her own.
