Adventures in Four Wheeling

I've added a place for my current favorite recipe to my side bar. The current selection is neither difficult, nor health conscious. Sorry. But it is good.

After I threw my casserole in the oven, Husband and I took the kids out on the four wheeler. It was my first trip since the day we brought it home. Husband hitched the wagon to it (we got it for the lawn mower last summer, but it also works for ATVs) and loaded the kids into it. We took them to Uncle E's to show J the new toy.

Then we headed back by way of the pond and land across the road from FIL's land. The kids gathered a bunch of pine cones (which BabyGirl put in the pink sink in my flower bed) and we came home by way of an area they've been logging since around Christmas. It looked horrible. It made me sad. Huge trees everywhere that were left due to imperfections...cut down and left to rot...how many years did they take to grow to those sizes? Sad.

On the way home we found out the wagon was not built for off road travels. It holds up well, but you do not want to be the one riding in it. BabyGirl got "car sick" and B.B. and I had to get out and walk because he was bouncing around too much. I wasn't in the wagon...I made that mistake once last summer. Not good for someone easily nauseated.

When we got home, Husband attempted to give me another lesson in driving the ATV. I did OK, but we couldn't leave the front of the house because the kids were playing in the yard. It was a very short lesson. And may be the last one for a while since it made my hips ache more...and I don't need any help in that area.

Now I'm ready for a nap. Husband and #1 Son are outside building some kind of playhouse with telephone poles and scrap lumber. Then they're going to put a new pen in the woods for the pygmy goats. Husband was asking my opinion on where to put it. I said as long as it isn't for pigs or in front of my house, I don't care. #1 Son should sleep well tonight.
