One last Christmas Gift...

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

:: L I Z Z Y ::
You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of silliness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.

OK, so maybe this is wishful thinking...but I do love Mr.Darcy...did you know his first name is Fitzwilliam? And although I adore the BBC's version, I cannot help but fall in love with the newest version starring Kiera Knightly (if you've been here long you already know that).

I have more questions: Why would a normal, functionally intelligent human being put a fire alarm in the kitchen only a few feet from the stove? Every time I open my oven the alarm goes off. And why does the alarm in my living room not go off when the entire room is a blue haze of smoke? The wind is horrible tonight...blustery day horrible...blows B.B. off course as he's walking through the yard horrible...takes my breath away if I turn into the wind horrible...and this horrible wind is blowing the smoke back down my chimney and out into the house. Not a normal occurrence. And the alarm has not gone off once! But as soon as I open the oven to pop a pizza in, it screams out in protest. Oh, and did I mention that all 5 of my alarms are hard wired in and programmed to go off together? My house is only 1,600 square feet and one floor...that's a lot of alarms!

And now my eyes are burning from the smoke...ugh.

On a good note, the kids and I spent the evening with Uncle Gick and Unkie Di. We went to see their new calf once more before it turns rainy and cold (tomorrow). Uncle Gick was home from hauling grain because there were equipment issues at the farm. Unkie Di wasn't home from work yet, so we hung out until she got off. They had Christmas presents for the kids and we hadn't seen them since the holidays. B.B. was thrilled! "Me get presents!" Why do you think you're getting a present? " 'A 'Cause...have to." Reason enough! The boys got a Craftsman weed eater and circular saw (they have an entire collection of Craftsman toys from Uncle Gick and Unkie Di). BabyGirl got a pink flamingo pen, pink flamingo personalized stationary, and pink flamingo sun glasses (she told Uncle Gick she likes flamingos, and Unkie Di had a hay day). Unkie Di told me they're going to get her an Add-A-Pearl necklace as well. They wanted to make sure we hadn't already started one. I had planned on it, but never got past the planning stage. She showed BabyGirl the one they started for their other great niece and she is one thrilled little girl! "I'm a big girl now, and Big Girls don't get so much toys. They get work stuff and Big Girl pretties."

Aww... it was cool and breezy here, too. Not fun. Baby Girl is growing up!

The wind is a big thing here too!! It's awful. It's blown everything off my deck and it's rolling around inside the privacy fence.

My smoke detectors are on the opposite side of the room from the stove. Everytime I open the oven to get a pizza out (no other time), which is every Friday night, the alarms throughout the house go crazy!! Bee always yells over it all "Oh man, not again!".
