What do you do when the mother in charge of getting the goodies to fill your treat "bags" gives you a plastic bag with 46 little pieces of chocolate in it, and 36 candy canes? Did I mention that there are 28 kids in Baby Girl's class (and I had already bought enough candy canes, plastic tumbler cups, and Christmas pencils)? She offered to get all the rest of the treats to fill the cups. When I picked up what she had bought, she said the kids she babysits had gotten into the candy she bought. Unless they ate a full 2 pounds of candy, she didn't buy near enough.
I started out very angry and worried about what to do. Then I decided that would do no good. At least she bought something. I decided I'd bake ginger bread men...only I was out of molasses. Now, we don't go to town but once a week unless there is an emergency or a doctor's appointment, and I didn't want to make the trek in last night with all 3 kids in tow.
I called Uncle E's house to see if they had any molasses. R.L. answered the phone and said they did not, but she had to go to town after crafting supplies and would be happy to pick up treats and molasses for me. I was so very relieved.
Then I decided to break out QM's stamping supplies and make book marks for the cups. They turned out pretty well, so now all I have left to do is roll out and bake the cookies. Guess I'd better get to it.

Way to save the day Mommy!!
I really want some of your inner peace. Or inner peace like yours. Or something. My modus operandi would have been to begin ranting and raving and hatefully throwing things into the bags as I huffed about how NO ONE ELSE CARES!
I like your way better. :)
who needs organization when you have problem-solving skills? sounds like the kids will have some great treats!!!!
