Vacation, vacation

Ahh, it's that time of year again. Vacation planning time. Since last year was the first vacation we've ever taken as a family, I was a tad surprised when Husband started talking vaca again this weekend.

We really only ever have a short list of places to go/things to do. This year we're looking at zoos. Mainly at the Grassmere Zoo in Nashville. I've never been there...at least I don't think I have. They built the "Nashville Zoo" shortly after we moved to TN & Mama & Daddy took us once. After that I think they moved locations. Daddy took BabyGirl to see the ring tailed lemurs when she was two...it was his first time babysitting any of his grands all by himself. Mama & I were at a women's conference in Nashville & we took #1 Son (who was about 4 months old) with us but left BabyGirl with her Pa.

Husband also wants to hit up the giant Bass Pro Shop at Opry Mills Mall since he's never made it there...but I have...twice.

I'm pretty sure if we end up in Nashville for vacation this year, QM & Daddy will be getting another phone call from the FarmHands. "Hey Grammy, do you want to come to the Zoo with me on my birthday?!" Mama, you have been warned.

Hey! You know what is absolutely amazing???? We have 2 awesome zoos within 90 minutes of our house, AND we have a MASSIVE Bass Pro Shops...i think you should come to MY house for vacation this year...after all, you just saw Art and Did (sorry...but it's true), and your parents aren't all that far away...

Yup...you should come vacation in Colorado!

I love zoos and Bass Pro. The Bass Pro we visit in Springfield is almost like a zoo. It also has a museum and live exhibits.

I'm voting with Kork. But then again, I know you'd have a blast being in Tennessee again. I am just prejudiced against the zoo there though. It seems unconscionable to charge so much for so little. But of course, this is being said by someone who is partial to the STL zoo that is FREE (except for a few exhibits and the train).

The Vancouver zoo pretty much sucks even worse, but we do have mountains. And if you are really lucky, you might even see a black bear in someone's yard. So maybe you should come here. =) Yes, upon further thought, you should definitely come here. We have border guards, a family of nudists who live on the border and like to be outside to entertain the border guards in their helicopter passes over the area, weird words like hokey dinah, people who dress like they stepped out of the Old Testament, mountains, wild animals of the four legged variety, and other wholesome and entertaining activities for the whole family! Yes, you should come to Canada. =)

A little known fact about Jay and I is that we are zoo aficionados. Grassmere is great (at least the times we've been there). You even have the opportunity to ride an elephant...or was it a camel?...anyway it was something and they had a really cool bat exhibit when we were there last. And Bass Pro is like another zoo but with taxidermy animals :P
