It's currently 74 degrees outside right now with sustained winds of up to 50 miles per hour. Husband just took down my new peony "Welcome" flag to keep it from being ripped to shreds. I just hung it yesterday. If you lay in my bed, it sounds like a freight train is barreling towards our house. There's a 90% chance of rain, but we've only seen a few drops.
I'm done with March. Let's move on shall we? I'd like to skip straight on to May with the exception of the Saturday before Palm Sunday (that being the day I get to see Inkling & meet Grasshopper for the first time) and Easter Weekend (when Princess, Axl, HT, QM, and Daddy are coming armed with chocolate & plastic eggs). I can really do without most of the next few weeks. I am ready for days I can toss the FarmHands out doors & not have to worry about them until lunch time. Maybe I'll even talk Husband into building them a privy out in the woods so we don't have to worry about potty breaks either.
Oh, an a hammock. I want a hammock this summer. That way I can lounge in the shade with a ball jar full of icy lemonaide & a good book while the FarmHands climb on everything taller than themselves.
I dug out our humming bird feeder, filled, and hung it up today in the hopes that our tiny friends will return. One summer they could empty the feeder in a day & a half with no problems. Last summer I forgot to hang it until well after time. This time I wanted to be sure it was up early. With the wind today, there's no way a humming bird, even if it was in this area now, could make it to eat. But I'll leave it & watch.
If you've never hung a hummingbird feeder, I highly suggest it. They're inexpensive, easy to care for, and will provide hours of entertainment. The FarmHands will sit quitely by the window for 20 minutes at a time just to watch the tiny creatures flit about & argue.

I think that hummingbirds are only bright in color...last summer, we had one fly into our garage and get stuck between the open garage door and the ceiling. He was in there for a couple hours, with me trying to shoo him out. It was very entertaining for my daughter, though. (We don't have any feeders, but they do love our flowers!)
We haven't been blown to Kansas yet, so I think there's hope for you! Although, you're about to get bombarded by the system that's come through here today...it's a doozy, so be prepared...
But I'm with you...I'm for summertime already...baking in the sun, watching the children try to drown each other in the pool...ahhh...good times!
We had wind and rain then wind with rain, now it is quiet.
