Second Grade Angst.

BabyGirl came out of her room last night (for the fourth time after I tucked her in) and said, "Mom, I think I'm going to break up with Logan tomorrow. We can just be best friends instead." I said OK & sent her back to bed. I was chatting with Inkling at the time & didn't think much of it.

When I got off the phone I decided I needed to talk to BabyGirl some more. She was obviously bothered by something....she couldn't stay in bed. When I went in her room I said, "BabyGirl, do you think you're in trouble for kissing Logan?" She started crying.

I told her I wasn't upset with her & she was in no way in trouble. "You didn't do anything wrong, sweetie. I just don't want you getting in trouble at school for breaking a rule. And I don't want you trying to grow up too fast. You're only seven. There's plenty of time for boyfriends & kissing when you're older. Right now you need to enjoy being a little girl." She was OK after that. I told her she didn't have to break up with him if she didn't want to, but she could if it would make her feel better. "You don't even have to decide right now. It's OK either way."

We'll see.....
