Happy Freaking Fourth of July.

First of all, another ring went missing last night. This time the entire ring is missing, not just the stone. And it's a ring given to me when I was a girl by a neighbor of ours who adopted us as family. Needless to say, not a good day.

But don't worry, folks, it gets worse. Much worse. At 8 o'clock, Husband had gone into our room. I didn't realize he'd gone to bed, he never said anything to me. After a few minutes I thought I heard him say something to me, so I went to check. I found him laying in the bathroom floor clutching his right side. He was moaning & shaking. Husband has a VERY high pain tolerance, so seeing him laying in the floor terrified me.

I asked him if he wanted me to call an ambulance & he said no. I asked what he wanted me to do & he said he didn't know. After about 2 minutes, I called MIL & asked her to sit with the kids. I grabbed the baby & took Husband to the ER.

To be honest, we're not sure what's going on at this point. He's home. He's still in a great deal of pain. All his blood work came back negative. His urine sample was clean. The ultrasound showed fluid around the kidney. The ER doctor (who just happened to be my least favorite of all the doctors we've ever seen in our many trips there) sent him home at 1:30 this morning with a strainer to pee in "just in case it happens to be a kidney stone," some pain meds, and a suppository for vomiting. He wants us to call a urologist on Monday morning. In the meantime, lots of fluids, and take him back to the ER if the pain becomes "Sever & Unbearable." Thanks.

To say I'm scared would be an understatement. This man has only been truly sick once(other than brief colds/flu) in the 10 years we've been married. That was bronchitis about 6 years ago. I'm having a hard time remaining calm when the pain hit him so suddenly & all we've been told is there may be fluid around his kidney. Monday is a long way off.

And please, don't get me started on the fiasco that was the ER last night......someday I'll tell you about that.

I'm hoping that everything turns out ok - we had this scare with Mr. X about four years ago and turned out to be a double hernia. Hang in there!

My husband has chronic kidney stones. They cause the worst pain you can imagine, but they generally pass in a few days. (It's rare when they need busting up.)An MRI or C-scan would have shown it if that is what is wrong. He'll feel the pain move and may also become quite nauseated from it. As horrible as this is to experience, he'll totally recover as soon as it passes. Until then, all you can do is take pain meds and wait. I am so sorry you're suffering...again. My thoughts are with you.

Sweety
Get him back to the ER..ask not to see that dr. again and you don't want him treating you.
It's sounds like he has a kidney infection..Remember my husband having to have a stint put into his kidney to drain the infection, two years ago. http://confessionsofamommyblogger.blogspot.com/2006/08/hubby-hosptialized-trip-canceled.html

You are in my thoughts and prayers..Please keep us updated!!
