#1 Son & Bitsy are having a nice visit this morning. She woke up just before 6 and he joined us just after 6. With only two awake, it's still very quiet this morning. Bitsy was laying on a blanket on the floor when #1 Son came in the room. He laid down next to her and started talking to her.
"Baby Bitsy, do you want me to tell you a story? Mommy, Baby Bitsy shook her head 'yes' at me!! OK, Baby Bitsy, once upon a time there were three little pigs..." A few minutes later I heard him whisper to her, "It's OK, Bitsy, the wolf won't eat them."
She was grunting & squeaking at him and he's been translating for me. "Bitsy almost said 'food,' Mommy!"
Then he decided to watch The Very Hungry Caterpillar. After I got the video started, Bitsy started fussing. "Don't worry, Baby Bitsy. It's not a scary show." He's such a good superhero.
Last night QM came over for one last hurrah before she headed north for the rest of the week. When she first got up here, she had Daddy buy a set of Dora the Explorer Dominoes, then she picked up a set of I Spy Go Fish cards and a game of Old Maid. She and the kids have played the games quite a bit since Bitsy was born. She was taking the games home with her so they'd have them to play when we come visit (and I'm pretty sure Art's kids will get to try their hands at them as well), so they sat down to play last night while I was fixing Mac & cheese.
Personally I think B.B. just likes to play so he can scream "Domino!!" when he gets down to his last tile. Most of the game is QM saying, "No. Wait. It's not your turn yet....no, it's my turn....you just went....no, it goes you, B.B., me, BabyGirl...hold on..." And #1 Son (or BabyGirl depending) keeps leaning across the table to try to sneak their tile in.
After a few games of Dominoes, they broke out the go fish cards. I love listening to B.B. try to say "helicopter" (it comes out something like "hea-did-dopp-ter") and #1 Son yell, "Gold Fish!" every time someone asks him for a card. He likes to tell you he doesn't have a card when he's already shown it to you half a dozen times.
While they were playing B.B. got riled up and #1 Son announced in an odd slurred drawl, "B.B. is crazier than God! Even he's crazier than a frog!" ('God' was pronounced "Gaw-ad," and 'frog' came out "Fra-wog.") All the while B.B. is yelling at me, "Bacon is pote chops!" ( that's "porks chops") He's the only one of the kids who will eat meat regularly, and then only if you tell him it's pork chops. I was cooking bacon at the time so he decided to yell across the table, "Grammy, I's is dunna' eat Pote chops! Nana-nana-boo-gie!" Not sure why he adds the "gie" to it, but he does.
While watching Finding Nemo with #1 Son
"Mommy, is that a shark?"
"No, that's a barracuda."
"Why?"
"It just is."
"Why did it eat Corral (Nemo's mom)?"
"Because he was hungry."
"Why didn't he eat another fish instead?"
"Because then you wouldn't have a movie to watch."

I always thought it was a shark that ate Nemo's Mom. !! I learned something new today. Yay for you!
I love the conversation with B.B. and Bitsy. How sickenly sweet is that! Almost makes me want another one! Ha!
WOW that was so funny. Thanks for sharing and making me homesick to see your kids (and all the others). Another month and a half and that visit will finally be here.
See you SOON!!
