As of midnight last night we had 7 puppies. Husband thinks there's one female, I thought I saw 2, but he's a more reliable source. He wasn't sure about the health of two of them. I hope they all make it. To quote Dr. Demento, "Dead puppies aren't much fun."
Just before Husband came in last night, BabyGirl woke me up saying her belly hurt. Thinking it was gas, I sent her back to bed to lay on her belly. When her dad came in she told him she thought she was going to throw up. That sent me running to her room. I gave her a dose of Anti-nausea medicine (dextrose syrup), and felt for a fever. A few minutes later she threw up.
Just before she vomited, she began writhing and moaning in pain. She was OK for a few minutes after, but soon started again. She couldn't lay still long enough for me to feel her stomach. I have never seen her like that before. Normally she gets very lethargic when she's nauseous. She was all over her queen sized bed.
It was snowing, but I wanted to take her to the ER. I asked Husband how bad it was and he said call his mom to sit with the boys and we'd both go. MIL got here and we headed out. BabyGirl threw up again before we got all the way down the drive (I took the trash can in case). But by the time we reached the little town 5 miles to our West (technically where we live), she was feeling better. The roads were getting bad and she wasn't in pain. I didn't want to risk the 15 mile drive to the big town's ER if she was only throwing up (not fun, I know, but little they'll do for her unless she's worse or dehydrated), so we decided to head home.
We got home at 1 am, and she went straight to bed and slept through until 6. I bunked in with her just in case, & thought we were in the clear. No such luck. When I rolled over and asked her how she felt. She immediately vomited again. So far, no fever and no other symptoms...and no one else is sick. I pray it all stays that way.
We did get our first measurable snow last night. The ground has been covered a few times this year, but this is the first time there's not a lot of grass poking through. The first good blanketing. And it's still coming down. It's pretty, but I can't say I'm excited. I'm such a party pooper.
Puppy update: as of 10:15 am we have 10 pups. 8 males, 2 females. Husband thinks she's still having them. It's over 40 degrees outside, so I may go take pics later.

Poor little baby girl and poor old you! I hope you both got some sleep and are feeling a bit better. S
I read above that the vomiting stopped but that her ear was aching now... Hope you're doing okay inspite of the exhaustion...
Love the picture you put up, it's fairy-like!
Oh, and, how lovely about the pups ^^
