The Great Peanut Butter Panic of 2007!!!!

OMAHA, Neb. - ConAgra Foods Inc. told consumers to discard certain jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter after the spread was linked to a salmonella outbreak that has sickened almost 300 people nationwide.
Lids of jars with a product code beginning "2111" can be returned to ConAgra for a refund, the company said.

I found this story when I logged onto my home page this afternoon. As luck would have it, #1 Son lives on peanut butter, and we get it with our WIC vouchers, I have a stock pile of Great Value Peanut Butter in my pantry. All 6 jars just happen to have that code. Now I am faced with a total lack of peanut butter for this child for the next 18 hours or so...this could get messy. I guess the recall covers peanut butter back to May of last year. You might want to check your peanut butter stock.

I got a wonderful valentine CD from Ragged in the mail today. I had to listen to it in the car on the way to get BabyGirl from school today. It's yummy! Now if only I could get her's done...

When I went in to pick BabyGirl up today, her teacher was gone, the school secretary was in charge, and she was handling pre-registration for next year's batch of kindergartners. When she looked in the hall and saw a few parents waiting for the bell, she said, "If you're here, you can have them." Yeah! No fighting traffic...don't even get me started on the mess in front of that school. I've nearly been hit at least 5 times this year.

BabyGirl came home with a big red envelope busting at the seams with valentines. Since they were snowed in yesterday, the party was postponed until today. She was on cloud 9...now she's on a sugar high! Thanks to whoever provided the Fun Dip!

BTW, Ang, I told Husband what you said about the ice=diamonds. He said, "Diamonds are little. I covered all that land for you!" That boy needs help!

My peanut butter stock was affected too. Me and the dog both love the stuff so it is very disappointing to us both. But save your lids and send them in and they'll refund you. Glad to hear STM is doing okay and will be praying for further good news.

I had some of it too, although not a months worth like you!! We just pitched it, one jar didn't seem worth the hassle of the refund!!

Hmmmmm, let's talk jelly!

I hope you enjoyed the CD and got my kid-friendly warning about one of the songs. Enjoy.
