FarmWife's Second Annual Virtual Tea Party
Yes, it's that time of year again. Last year I threw a virtual tea party so a new blogger could meet my new friends. I think it's a tradition worth keeping. So grab a cup, pull up a chair, and join the party (lurkers are very welcome...think of it as an easy way to come out of the shadows).
Like any good hostess, I'll try to get the conversation rolling. Some of my questions may be repeats from last year, but they worked then, they'll work now!
#1. What is your name? Do you blog? If so, where & for how long? As you know, I am Farm Wife and this is my blog. I've been at this since January of 2006.
#2. How do you take your tea (or coffee if you prefer)? I prefer it all in all it's forms. Iced tea, Fruit Tea, herbal tea, traditional hot tea (I must say I'd love to have Sarah from the UK brew me a pot), coffee, flavored coffee, iced coffee, latte, cappuchino, chi...all must be sweet. But if I am just sitting down with a cup of tea, I'd like cream and sugar.
#3. What is your current obsession (or obsessions as the case may be)? Well, pregnancy (naturally), blogging (very high on the list) & reading blogs, reading in general (you can check my list in the side bar), and worrying over a purple dress I have to make to wear in a certain wedding...
#4. What is your absolute least favorite chore? If I had to pick just one, I'd have to say, dishes. Always has been. Always will. I thought having a dish washer would remedy me of this, but no.
#5. Are you taking a vacation this summer (or year)? Where to? Yes, I'm taking a 3 day trip to the Big City to spend 3 days in bed having meals delivered and being waited on by nurses...no, wait, that's not a vacation...I'm going to have a baby. Well, I will not be expected to referee fights, wash dishes, do the laundry, or cook meals for 3 days, so I'm going to consider it a vacation.
#6. Do you have any secrets you'd like to share? Secretly, I eat too much candy...Peeps may be my down fall...I try to keep myself down to one row a day. But since that's not really a secret, I'll try to think of something better for another post.
Thank you so much for coming. I hope you've enjoyed yourself & will feel free to stop by anytime.
One additional Tea Party related comment: Inkling, crumpets are similar to pancakes. A little smaller and denser and less sweet. Fabulous with jam. If you type "crumpet" into the search this blog at the top, you should find my recipe eventually.
*** In news unrelated to the tea party: BabyGirl probably had food poisoning this weekend. At least 4 other kids (including her 2 best friends) were sick this weekend. The two best friends also began throwing up at midnight on Friday. *** We are down to 5 puppies. Husband isn't sure if Aurora is sitting on them, or they're getting sick. It's the mystery.

Oh goody I love your tea parties!
#1. What is your name? Do you blog? Zann, you
can call me zann. I followed farmwife over here so I could keep up with her. My blog here is zannhu.blogspot.com, but I also keep a regular and more personal journal at livejournal.com
#2. How do you take your tea (or coffee if you prefer)? I'm not a big tea or coffee drinker, I usually stick to Diet Dr. Pepper but if I am to have a glass I like sweet ice tea, or sweetened hot tea - no special flavors. I also like lattes and cappacinos, particularly with caramel or hazelnut. And if I just have a plain cup of coffee, I like it black with one packet of sugar.
#3. What is your current obsession (or obsessions as the case may be)? I spend a lot of time looking at comics and children's books. I obsess over the dog, and keeping up with friends both old and new.
#4. What is your absolute least favorite chore? Cleaning the bathroom. Hate. it.
#5. Are you taking a vacation this summer (or year)? We don't really know yet. There will be lots of small trips home to visit family and friends, but we aren't sure if will get to have a real adventure or not this year. We'll have to wait and see.
#6. Do you have any secrets you'd like to share? I have one to share with Farmwife. Remember the Funny Farm image... well it may actually be come a real live, selling in stores, flag in the next year or so. If it does, then I will definately send you a complimentary copy as you were the inspiration :D
Okay, I am now looking to the person at my left at the virtual table waiting for them to continue the conversation :)
hmm... i guess that would be me, Zann!
1. My name is Lauren. Yes, that's my first name in real life. I am not creative enough to come up with a pseudonym that I don't find too long or annoying. My former pseudonym was just too long.. I suppose I could have shortened it to AWH... My blog is in Farmwife's links. My sis in law got me started reading her blog and her friends' blogs last summer. Soon after, I discovered that an e-mail buddy from high school also had a blog... and she told me about FarmWife, who also went to the same church, and FarmWife's cousin's blog.
2. Tea, preferred, but coffee if Tech Mom makes it. 2 tsp sugar or honey, please. If it's coffee, a smidge of milk or cream, too.
I'm with farmwife- love all types of tea.
3. Blogging has become an addiction/obsession. I've grown to love my blog family!!!
4. I HATE scrubbing/cleaning toilets. 'Nuf said.
5. In the summer... we're going to Gulf Shores and renting a near-beach house with hubby's side of the family. We did this a couple of years ago, just before the hurricanes hit. Ivan took out the pool at the house we stayed at on the beach last time, so we had to find a place with a private pool because we got spoiled last time. I hope we can handle the 2 minute walk to the beach.
6. Secrets to share? Then they wouldn't be secrets anymore. Nope, can't think of any at the moment.
Now, could someone please pass the honey?
Of course I can pass the honey, Honey. Thanks for the invitation Farmwife, I feel very much at home ! Now then....
1. My name is Sarah and I am from England.I started my secret housewife blog at the end of December 2006, found Farm wife's blog and am now an every day visitor.Love reading you !
2. I like my tea strong. Tea in first, then a splash of skimmed milk, no sugar. I do rather like pear and apple flavour green tea and after a meal out I drink a short espresso with 2 sugar cubes.
3. I am currently obsessed with blogging. Its a whole new world.
4. My least favourite chore is ironing. It piles up sooooo quickly. If I wasn't so mean I would pay someone to do it for me !

6. Secrets ? Loads, but if I told you chaps they wouldn't be secret would they ?!
I've had a lovely time, Farmwife. Thank you for having me. Now, can I pass anyone a slice of this delicious cake ?
Yes, I would love a piece of cake. Thank you Sarah with a beautiful "h".
#1. What is your name? Do you blog? My name is Sara Orange or Inkling. I blog at Inkling's Imaginative Musings. I blog because Farmwife inspired me.
#2. How do you take your tea (or coffee if you prefer)? I prefer Tetley decaf, since it is past noon here, with two spoonfulls of raw sugar or honey. When I take tea with my UK friends here, I have learned to like cream or milk with it as well.
#3. What is your current obsession (or obsessions as the case may be)? Rock climbing, finding the perfect spot of property for us to make a home and a business, obedient children, healthcare, chocolate, understanding men. (Okay, that last one is more of a dream.)
#4. What is your absolute least favorite chore? Doing dishes and pulling my husband's socks apart when it's time to do laundry. Those came in for a solid tie.
#5. Are you taking a vacation this summer (or year)? Where to? We hope to come back to Missouri for a week or so, but before that, we plan to kayak up around the island here. I'm hoping for an anniversary trip back to the cabin in Indiana (not the one with the mouse, the other one).
#6. Do you have any secrets you'd like to share? Secretly...hmm....I ate my husband's Valentine present and had to buy him another one. (Proving that I should not shop early when it includes chocolate.) I'd like it if we could add to our family this coming year. And finally, I think I'm an American snob who is going to have to learn to be a little more humble in order to adjust to a new country.
Now, would anyone like a scone or a crumpet? What are crumpets anyway, and are they made of chocolate?
#1. What is your name? Do you blog? If so, where & for how long?
My name is Kymburlee and I've been keeping a blog, Ramblings, since August 2006.
#2. How do you take your tea (or coffee if you prefer)?
I don't drink tea or coffee for religious and health reasons. Am I still allowed to join the party? Pwetty Pwease??
#3. What is your current obsession (or obsessions as the case may be)? Blogging, reading blogs, reading in general, crocheting (I just learned this fall), cuddling with my hubby, playing with my little girls.
#4. What is your absolute least favorite chore? Dusting without a doubt!
#5. Are you taking a vacation this summer (or year)? Where to? Minneapolis, Minnesota. My husband's brother is getting married there. I'm secretly annoyed that we could fly to an exotic destination for less.
#6. Do you have any secrets you'd like to share? I think I'm funny but I pretend to be all humble and stuff so people will tell me so more often. =P
And I am soooo up for that cake if it's still on offer.
First time here...luverly place you have here. Love the decor...very stylish. =)
Welcome, Kimberly! It's so nice to meet you.
I'd like two sugar cubes, please.
#1. What is your name? Do you blog? If so, where & for how long? I am Ragged Around The Edges, but you can call me Ragged. I blog at www.raggedaroundtheedges.blogspot.com
#2. How do you take your tea (or coffee if you prefer)? Given that I have a sweet tooth, I love my tea with sugar or honey. I like my coffee with creamer and sugar.
#3. What is your current obsession (or obsessions as the case may be)? Other than Veronica Mars, there's yarn and knitting; and butter cookies.
#4. What is your absolute least favorite chore? I hate mopping. It's obvious.
#5. Are you taking a vacation this summer (or year)? Where to? My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a baby, so I suspect we'll be in North Carolina this summer; and again for my other brother's wedding.

More butter cookies, please.
