Confessions in Candy Land

Pretty sure B.B. has pink eye now...as I was tucking him in (a fruitless effort that he deems necessary), I noticed quite a bit of mucous in the corner of one eye. I took him in the living room to check under good light. It was in both eyes...not a big surprise, but one I was so hoping to avoid.

Giving #1 Son his eye drops involves a full blown wrestling match. Not fun.

We played Candy Land tonight. Not really fun with 3 kids trying to set on the board and one too little to grasp the game at all...not that it's my favorite game to begin with...too much guilt involved.

When Bubba and Princess were little I cheated them relentlessly at it. I'd stack the cards, I'd change the rules, I'd do what ever I could to beat them at it. Partly to win, and partly to have it over quickly. Tonight when I realized the game was NEVER going to end, I took out all the "special" cards so no one got sent back to the beginning. I just couldn't take it anymore.

Come on mom, you didn't want to keep going like the energizer bunny? What's wrong with this?
Just funnin' with ya.

Hope you get some more rest.

Wow, your family's had a time of it. That seems to be the way it is when kids are little. They catch everything going and coming and pass it around.

I'm glad you shared your tactics for ending Candyland a little quicker. I wonder if there's a parent anywhere who hasn't taken advantage of their kids not being able to read the rules to do some creative rulechanging to speed it up!

Oh, yes, I had forgotten, I used to take out all the picture cards too... completely slipped my mind!! That game has the potential of lasting for hours!!

The last time I played with Monarch, I was more than habby to play by her rules... it ended really quick that way. But then she wanted to play again. And again...

Now she's learning chess. That's a little above me.
