Fighting Injustice

Here are some Canadian gingerbread cookies to wish Inkling a Happy New Year!
Baby Girl is watching Disney's Cinderella on DVD this afternoon. It's her favorite movie, but we haven't watched it in a while so she's totally engrossed. When the scene where the Evil Stepmother and the Stepsisters leave for the ball began, she was sitting about 8 inches from the television. As Lady Trumaine points out the beads the mice have pilfered from her daughters' rooms, Baby Girl leaps to her feet. As Anastasia and Drusilla begin tearing Cinderella's gown to pieces, Baby Girl begins bouncing in the way only overwrought little girls can do. As Lady Tremain escorts her daughters out the door remarking, "I'll not have you upsetting yourselves," Baby Girl screams, "She should be in jail! All three of them should be in jail! She's the goodest one in her family! She does everything for them! They're all bad and should have to go to jail!" I remember feeling the same sense of injustice as I watched Cinderella at her age. I was so angry with the Stepmother when she made that same comment, I could hardly contain myself. Like Mother like Daughter I guess.

Mmmmm.... I can smell them from here. Wish you guys were actually here. Tell Baby Girl that I agree with her and am glad she was brave enough to say such a thing. I've always thought it, but never was bold enough to declare it aloud like her.

now where did you find a maple leaf cookie cutter? Very Cute!
And babygirl my son loves the Cinderella Movie and wants his little girl when he gets older to be named "Cindy". He does not like her stepfamily.

Don't you love it when kids root for the underdog? So cute.

My gkids didn't like them either. They are such champions of right and wrong when they're little.
