Duck, Duck, Goose!

Here she is. Chloe, the newest addition to our flock. Day one has gone well. She's never been in water before and took to it like that proverbial duck. She's not been aggressive or loud...Yet. I'm sure once she's comfortable she may show her true colors. If they aren't pretty, we just may eat her!

Husband's cousin J got a chicken today. His sister R.L. has wanted one forever. She wants livestock of all sorts. Although they live in the country, they farm out most of their ground, so they really just have a slightly large yard. R.L has been asking for chickens, ducks, a goat, a cow, a horse...You name it, for the past 3 years. Today her little brother got a chick at Rural King.

We went over to see the new acquisition and Husband offered them the use of one of our rabbit cages (that's where we keep chicks and ducklings). He brought it over then told R.L. if she'd come with him, he'd give her a chick of her own. She came back with a little Rhode Island Red chick and the duckling that hatched this morning. J named his chick Daisy, so I suggested Bo and Luke for the other chick and the duck...We'll see. J and R.L. were thrilled! Aunt C isn't sure they'll keep them alive...If the cat has anything to do with it, they won't. I can't wait to see how they do with the birds.

hey y'all can bring the namesakes and come to the Dukes of Hazard reunion.
The whole gang will be there and I'm sure they would love to meet the livestock.
Come to Cooter's in Nashville or in Gatlinburg.
