Much to my amazement, Uncle E announced Sunday that this Saturday is the local town chowder. That cannot possibly be because the chowder marks the end of the summer. Chowder, then VBS, then school starts. It's the same every year. And it cannot possibly be that time, because summer only just began. Not enough time has been spent in the pool, at the park, or eating popsicles. School supplies have not even been thought of. Sure, I saw the shelves fully stocked at Wal-Mart, but my thoughts turned to the over eagerness of the retail industry that starts decorating for Christmas in October. The same is true of school supplies. They're being sold when everyone should be at church camp.
This also means I am well behind in scheduling appointments. We've had to switch dentists (yet again) to find someone who will accept both of our insurances. The 2 older kids, Husband, and I all need new glasses...yet another issue to iron out with an insurance. Oh, and then there are the check-ups I failed to schedule after birthdays this year. And to top it all off, B.B. will need his last round of vaccines before starting school. I am so unprepared it's not funny.
So, what fun things do you have planned to end your summer? We're ending ours with an endless parade of doctors appointments & a tonsillectomy. Fun for all!
