Shiners, Jelly, and Take-Out, Oh my!

Bitsy's sporting a baby shiner today. She pulled my camera off the top of the computer a few days ago & hit herself in the cheek bone. Very cute. Yeah, I know, I'm evil. But I can't help it. Tiny kids with black eyes are just cute. There's something wrong with me, isn't there?

I made a pot of pear butter last night & my first batch of rose jelly this morning. I can't wait to try the jelly. If it works out (which I'm pretty sure it will...smells great!) I'll be planting lots & lots of rose bushes in the spring! Right now I'm trying to convince Husband & BabyGirl to weed around her Mr.Lincoln rose bush & turn up the soil a bit so I can sneak some coffee grounds & banana peels in for it.

The kids had their Book-It free pizza certificates so we ran off to town after church. Grabbed the kids tiny pizzas, Micky D's for Husband, and Chinese take out for me, then headed to the park for a take-out picnic & an hour on the playground. Big fun.

Are you the one that was admiring my little tiny canning jars at your Grandma's house? I think they are the cutest little things!! They make great gift-sized jelly jars!!

Mmmmmm...the rose jelly sounds fabulous!

I'm jealous that you got to have a picnic and play! It was only 40 here on Sunday, all cloudy, and damp, and just around noon, it started misting and didn't stop until sometime before 4:30 this morning...UGH! I wish it would just snow and get it over with, or else be sunny...
