Uncle E

Beffie just called me. Uncle E was up a ladder picking cherries in their small orchard when he fell off the ladder. He was having hard time breathing, so they called the ambulance. The paramedics think he may have broken a few ribs. He's at the hospital. We're just waiting to hear. Please pray.

And to think, they weren't supposed to come home from their vacation until today.

Updated @ 4:50 pm.
Uncle E has a broken collar bone and five ribs with hair line fractures. There's a possibility of a bruised lung, but that's uncertain. They actually sent him home from the hospital only to get a call from the radiologist that his x-ray had been read wrong & he needed to come back. They're keeping him overnight to be certain the ribs don't fully fracture & puncture a lung.

Apparently on his trip down through the tree, he hit a few branches.

I should note that Uncle E NEVER sits still. His recovery could be VERY trying.

Updated again @ 6:20 pm.
FIL came by & said MIL was on her way home with Aunt C. Aunt C was going to get a change of clothes & head back up to the hospital in her own car to stay with Uncle E tonight. FIL also said they have Uncle E in the ICU!! The local country doc (in whom I have little faith...the same one Pilot used to work for WAY back in the day) said Uncle E would be there at least until Tuesday. Gotta' love a hospital that sends someone home who belongs in the ICU.

I would say since Uncle E went to the ER he was seen by another doctor not Dr. G. The results of the x rays were probably called to Dr. G by the ER doc or the radiologist. Dr G was probably going by what they told him of the x rays. ALSO DR G. ISN'T A RADIOLOGIST. He is a Int. Med. Doc. Rib X-rays can be very tough to read depending on anatomy and other issues like bad positioning and light or dark images. Of all the doctors in this area that I have worked with and that has been alot of them Dr. G is the one that I would trust my life with. Medicine isn't always black and white.
