Teeth, Vaca, Kicks, 1987 (not the book), and Funnel Cakes

We have two tiny buds of top teeth just poking through the gum!! Maybe this means Bitsy will actually "sleep" through the night tonight (I'm not holding my breath). This is how she fell asleep yesterday afternoon in her play-pen.

We've been working out an itinerary for the Big Trip. At the moment, plans include Dinosaur World, Kentucky Action Park, and Kentucky Down Under. I think this will be the first time since I was in High School I've done more than drive through KY on my way to TN. Now we're praying it doesn't rain the entire time we're there.

Like my fly kicks? OK, I know my legs are skinny...chicken legs, if you like, but why do my feet look like gun boats in this picture?! Maybe it's just the Chucks. They do that to everyone, right? Maybe it's the camera angle...I wear a 5 1/2! Oy. Here, this picture is better. I just wanted to share. Princess got me these shoes for my B-day the weekend Inkling got married. I LOVE them. Bubba got me the laces. I also LOVE them. They make me feel 16 again.

I bought a pair of shorts for myself today. That makes the second full price item of clothing I've purchased for myself (not including socks & undergarments) in the past 4 years. And the first pair of shorts I've bought in 6 years. But purchasing them meant a trip through the JR's department at Wal-Mart.

I don't know if you've been there recently, but I felt like I'd been zapped back to 1987! Oh how I wanted to perm my hair & tease it to new heights, wear tons of neon, hot pink lipstick, big plastic earrings, & Ray Bans while rocking out to "Walk Like an Egyptian" of Tiffany's version of "I Think We're Alone Now." If they bring back asymmetrical hair styles, I'm moving to Jamaica.

In a totally unrelated story, Kork keeps asking why FarmBoy doesn't load us all up & take us to Colorado to visit her (did I mention it snow there? Is snowing there?) His response, "I hear they have powdered sugar in Colorado."

The summer Husband & I were dating, Kork & her boyfriend drove out to visit. We all packed up & drove to TN to spend a week with Daddy & QM. While there we all went to Opryland (sadly it is no more). It was HOT. It was fun. They had funnel cakes! I love funnel cakes. Kork & I got one.

Before we bit into it, Kork told FarmBoy there was a funnel cake tradition. "First funnel cake of the year. You have to get your face down there & take a big whiff of it before you eat it!" So he leaned down into the funnel cake & inhaled deeply...then Kork blew gently on the sugar. FarmBoy came up covered in a fine white dust! He may never truly forgive her! I laugh every time we see a funnel cake stand at the fair.

Note: QM just commented on the last post (for those of you who think our talking potty chair is odd) that my potty chair played "How Dry I Am" when you lifted the lid. I loved it. I did not however, pick out the current posessed potty chair.

I am so sad I missed you at Wal-mart yesterday. I was there for 2 hours getting new tires for the van.

Did you hear Yin in the toy section? I want Dat, and dat, and dat, dat, dat, dat... Well you get the idea. What did she get? A box of twinkies.

I bought myself some awesome clearance t's for $3.00. :)

Wish I could have seen little Bitsy, and the other farm hands.

The are in between the fitness wear and the regular clothes. They are solid colors and stripes. They are hanging on the back not the side of the checkout counters... one of the long runners if that makes any sense. I got Red, Blue, and Green. They are super!

I am going to have to let you know when I am leaving next friday.

OK...for the record, it only snows between Labor Day and Memorial Day...we have NEVER in my life had snow after Memorial Day...so there.

And tell FarmBoy that we have more than powdered sugar...and he can get me back anytime he wants when he brings you and the 'Hands to come visit us...how's THAT for bribery!
