You know you live in the country when:

  1. Your kids get out of school for the day because the girls' volleyball team made it to State.
  2. Your kids get out of school for the first day of deer season. (Seriously, Ya'll.)
  3. Chowder isn't just a soup, it's a social event.
  4. The closest town has neither a stop light nor a gas station.
  5. Everyone in a 3 county radius knows who you are when you mention your Grandma-in-law's name.
  6. It's not possible to boycott Wal-Mart without driving an hour to shop.

Wow, deer season? Our kids get out when the basketball team goes to state and when the local festival starts, but not deer season...you've trumped us.

I always thought of chowder as a New England meal...just goes to show.

I love your number 5.
