And now we return you to your regularly scheduled blog

I'm pretty sure I need three days to recover from Thanksgiving.

Little BIL leaves to go back to Korea on Wednesday morning. We'll have to say goodbye to him tomorrow since his plane leaves Indy at the crack of dawn. I can't believe he's been home nearly a month. It's flown by. He just found out his next assignment will have him stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. He'll only be about 3 hours from home, but they have one of highest rates for sending soldiers to Iraq. I can't say I'd be surprised if he was sent, but it would really stink if he ended up stateside only to be shipped out again immediately. Not to mention, he'll only have 6 months left when he gets back & most tours in Iraq are 9 months or so keeping him in well past his release date. But he joined the Army in the midst of the Iraqi conflict. He knew then it was a serious possibility.

Now it's time to gear up for Christmas. The house was clean...that has to happen again (although I think I'll skip the carpet shampooing & floor scrubbing this time)...the tree needs to go up (I wonder if I can talk Husband into a new pre-lit tree)....decorations dug out....presents bought....pictures to take....cards to mail....Oh dear. Can I just hibernate instead? OK, FarmWife, Put on your red & green big girl panties, and Christmas up!

I can't believe his time home is almost over.

My brother and my cousin are both stationed at Ft. Campbell. It is just a stone's throw from Rudy's parents... okay like 30 miles, but not too bad.

I wish him a safe trip back to Korea, and back home again.

-Pre-lit tree the way to go... Maybe you should have him drive to my town, I know someone that has one to GIVE away. Me! It is a very nice tree. It is just to big for my little house. ;) Call me.

Put on your unitard and boot socks instead. Then we'll rewrite some Pearl Jam songs to be about Christmas and the holiday prep will fly by. Hey I'll brush my hair out and wear my glasses. The farm will never be the same.

We don't have a prelit tree, either. And I think half our lights are out. But we are not buying a new tree this year... No ma'am. I'm hoping my college roommate will help us set it up this coming weekend.
