She'll be riding in a Saturn when she comes

Sometime tomorrow my house will be graced with the presence of my favorite permanent resident of Canada!! I only hope she doesn't drown trying to get in the door. At one point this summer our pond was down to only 2 feet of water. Now it's nearly full (almost 5 feet of water). Oh well, she lives in a rain forest. This will serve to help her feel at home.

While I fully understand that Inkling is coming to see me (OK, so she's coming to see my kids...especially Bitsy) and not my housekeeping as Ang pointed out, I still must make my home presentable. Not spotless. Just not smelly & horribly cluttered. This I can do. This I must do. My Mama raised me right. She would tan my hide if I had company coming & didn't at least attempt to pick up.

If I get going I may even make a big pot of my potato soup for lunch tomorrow. Potato soup sounds good in the midst of our cold monsoon season. I have no idea when Inkling & Aunt D are coming, but if they get here in time, I may even share!

On the Hot Mama front, I got the cutest shirt at Wal-Mart today. It's a Singing the Blues Babydoll Tee by No Boundaries. I've been watching it all summer, but have been too frugal (read: Cheap) to pay $8.92 for it. Sad, I know. Today I found it on the clearance rack for $6.00, so I jumped at it. I also picked up a beige/light tan ribbed tank for $1 that will go well with my pink velour track suit Princess gave me for Christmas last year (I may permanently move into that track suit). Can I just say nearly every item in my closet was either a gift, a hand-me-down, or off the clearance rack? My name is FarmWife & I am frugal (read: cheap).

Good thing you're fun to buy for.

Nothing wrong with holding out for a bargain! I keep telling you - spend on the classics that you can wear for more than a season...the trendy stuff you can get for cheap...it only needs to last in "I can wear this outside, past my driveway to get the mail" condition for up to 18 months!

I can't wait to see pictures of Inkling (and you'd better send some to me!!!!)

G-pa M&M has a church meeting in the morning, so we can't leave until he comes back. (It's the first one he's gone to in a long while.) We'll probably eat lunch here with them, and then head out. I am hoping to have Aunt Silverbelle cut my hair tomorrow, if possible, since she had a migraine tonight and there was no way I'd ask her to do it feeling that way. But we will get to your place asap, hopefully no later than 3 p.m. We'll be able to stay a few hours, barring your children getting bored with me and shooing us away before then. If I had my druthers, I'd stay way longer. But, alas, this crazy four state tour has me on a schedule. If we end up getting there any earlier, I'll call and give you a warning.

By the way, your house doesn't have to be clean, and it doesn't even have to be smell-free. I live with a boy, you know.

I can't wait to see you and I can't wait to give your little ones a big hug if they will let me.

love, Inkling

Did I tell you today that I love ya? I bet you will look real cute in your new tops. I really truely hope that you enjoy your visit with her and that you are able to savor every single minute of each others company. Your house will be amazing as always.
Hugs girl

I can sooo relate to feeling like you should attempt to clean up when people are coming over! hat's how I managed not to get online until tonight.

And I probably wouldn't have bothered, but I had to post pics of Baby Bear's birthday on her blog.... the party is tomorrow, but we celebrated a bit yesterday, too.

Give Inkling a big hug for me!
