A day (or two) in the life

The homeschooling has been passed down the line a bit. Today I found B.B. quizzing Bitsy with his flash cards. "You see dis, Bitsy? Dis is a tiger. [It was a lion.] Dere are two tigers. Dis one is da bigger one & dis one is da bigger one, too." He has some cards with bigger and smaller pictures and some for counting. He usually counts all of them and tells which one is bigger even if they're the same size. I think Bitsy learned a lot!

#1 Son had a fever last night so he missed his first day of pre-k today. He was OK with staying home until he realized that meant no recess and no sticker for good behavior. Poor kid. Since the weather was nice (mid 70's...yahoo!!) he went out with his dad to do chores, so that made up for the recess thing. He hasn't asked about a sticker. He did ask if his sister was home yet (at 10 this morning). I told her he had to wait a LONG time for that!

We sat down for bedtime stories the other night. BabyGirl brought me The Princess & the Pea by Lauren Childs, #1 Son brought The Three Little Pigs, B.B. brought Shock by Robin Cook.

I forgot to post that Labor Day Weekend, Husband traded his dad our steer Larry-Boy for two heifer calves. Both are at least half black Angus (or black Agnes as Inkling's mom says). They're pretty little girls, but not tame enough to get close to yet. I'll try to get some pictures soon. BabyGirl named hers Ella Enchanted and B.B. named his Wendy. We're quite the cartoon cavalcade around here.
