It's revolting, but it's getting the job done (you can scroll down about 4 posts if you don't know what I'm talking about). I was floored when I saw how many fruit flies had collected in the jar. It sat on my counter for about 2 hours and nothing happened. I put it in my pantry, and this is what I had with in 90 minutes or so. I threw B.B.'s apple core in for good measure. Hopefully I can throw the entire thing out tonight or tomorrow.
One of the suggestions for killing the flies was to put a piece of spoiled fruit in your oven & leave the door open all night. In the morning you were supposed to close the oven door "quietly" and turn it on to 350 degrees. After 15 minutes all the flies would be dead, but then you have to clean all the dead flies out of your oven. Eww.
And I'll try not to post anymore today. 4 posts in one day...I must be making up for lost time.

I had an old aunty who used to hang jars of urine from her fruit trees for fruit fly. Don't know if it worked: not going to try it!
