High on Baby

I've been sitting in the recliner, sniffing my daughter's head. There's nothing in the world like the smell of a new baby, freshly bathed, and dressed in Dreft washed clothes. I could hyperventilate.

Bitsy is so very tiny. 6 pounds 3 ounces at birth, 5 pounds 13 ounces by Thursday, and 5 pounds 14 ounces yesterday when we came home. She's the smallest of our three. And yes, she does look quite a bit like her mom. Especially in her build. She's tiny & skinny just like her mother was when she was born. QM said it's like a flash back.
BabyGirl is smitten with her. B.B. asked QM if we could keep Bitsy & was thrilled when Grammy said yes. "Mommy! Mommy! Grammy say we tan teep Baby Bitsy!! Her can stay here!!" #1 Son has demanded to hold her repeatedly while I'm nursing. (Speaking of nursing: Things asked while watching Bitsy nurse...."Why is her eatin' your bu-bums?" [that's B.B. for Bosoms]...."Is she getting milk outa' there?"...."Do I have milk in mine?" Oh, and all from the boys.)
I'm busy. I'm tired. I'm taking it as easy as possible. QM's handling the house stuff. Husband's wrangling kids. I've been napping & watching TV & reading the occasional blog. I'm not sure when I'll be up to regular posts, but know I'm blogging in my head.
Oh, and this time I had a much easier time with the surgery. Thanks for your prayers!!!

I'm so glad you feeling better this go around and she is so beautiful. Ahhh to hold a baby again. My little friend Dylan has been the closest thing to a little one I've got to hold in a long time.

It's so wonderful that your Bitsy and my nephew's baby came so closely together. When I hold her I know what you're talking about. She was a 9 pounder though. The most remarkable thing is how soft she is. I think they'll bring her over to our house to watch the fireworks this year, so they won't have to fight the crowds.
