She strikes again....

Once upon a time I posted about the heinous lies my mother tells. Yesterday she posted a prime example of her mental problems. Go read this fabulously wonderful post about my Bucka...then come back here. She wrote it under the guise of his birthday. I read it, was intrigued, and enjoyed the post. I immediately commented, and went on to read other blogs. It didn't take too long at all for me to begin to wonder just how much of the tale she had fabricated. I knew some of the story to be factual...Bucka & Aunt R. really were very good looking, Bucka really did go north (but I think he was sent north), the birth certificate thing is true, Great-greatgrandpa moonshining wouldn't surprise me at all....but the rest seemed a little too good to be true. And I'd never heard some of the stories.

I called Busha and told her about it. I believe Busha's exact word were, "Well, I've never heard that, but it doesn't mean it isn't true. I'll have to ask your Grandfather." I said yeah, since it's coming from my mother, it's probably a load of manure. And guess what? It's total bunk. Not all of it, but about 75% of it. And she did it just for me. I'm telling you, that woman is EVIL!! And you'd think after being lied to for 31 years, I'd get wise much faster...but what can I say? She's my mom. You should be able to trust your mother. And I am a fairly trusting person (gullible? not sure, you decided).

The worst part of it all: Great-grandma never did make lace...and I loved that thought.

By the way, if you are ever riding down Illinois Rout 1 with my mother and she points to a one room shack by the side of the road just south of Robinson and tells you that's where Bucka was born, do not believe her. This is one I caught on to immediately, but Bubba & Princess were roped into every time.

*gasp* I read that post by QM earlier and believed every word. Perhaps she goes by J's favorite TV quote from Adam Savage on Mythbusters "I reject your reality and substitute my own"

Ah, but were it not for her, you might not have such an entertaining style of writing on here. Not that you would ever write anything other than pure truth. Hee hee...
