How I Spent My Mother's Day or Why My Kids Can't Get Sick on Weekdays.

If you haven't guessed, I spent a nice little chunk of the day in the ER with #1 Son. He woke up with a runny eye and it turned red & puffy as the day progressed. I took him to the ER after church & ended up with the worst doctor they have. He isn't a bad doctor in the medical sense, he just has no people skills. Zero. Zip. Zilch. In fact, when I was telling QM about our trip she immediately knew who he was. The same doctor had treated Bucka once when she was in the ER with him and she wasn't impressed either.

At any rate, doctor wasn't convinced it was pink eye, so he was reluctant to prescribe the eye drops. When he decided to do it, he didn't want me to fill the prescription. I finally was able to make him understand that I was fully capable of filling the script and putting it up for "just in case" since we live 15+ miles from the pharmacy. Turns out just in case was tonight anyway.

My daughter and I had a knock-down, drag-out this morning getting ready for church. Great way to start the day. She was mad that she had to go, but #1 Son was staying home (didn't want to risk spreading pink eye to the other kids). After she came out of Sunday School, she was much happier and decided to not only speak to me again, but to love me as well.

While #1 Son and I were in town, I noticed the Rabbit Lady who lives next to Wal-Mart was home, so we stopped in to see if there were any bunnies for sale. We came home with one fat boy. He's a copper Satin rabbit we named Hazel after the rabbit from Watership Down. I left our number with Rabbit Lady & she said she'd call when she had dwarf bunnies ready. BabyGirl wants a dwarf...inspired, I think, by FarmFairy's Jonas & Savannah. As a matter of fact, I think Hazel looks a great deal like Jonas...I'll try for a pic tomorrow.

Husband took the kids fishing in our little pond. #1 Son was thrilled when his dad said he'd caught a "keeper." In all I think Husband kept 7 bluegills and cleaned them for the freezer. BabyGirl & #1 Son watched him clean them (much to my amazement) and no one cried.

Now my allergies are in high gear. I'm tired. I'm ticked off. I'm stressed out. I'm homesick. I miss my mom. I want B.B. to go to bed (he keeps asking me to start a fire in the fire place...it's 70 outside). I'm frustrated. I want to go to bed for about 3 days (didn't sleep well the past 2 nights). I want to be alone. I'm hormonal.
