Happy Early Birthday to me....Sort of.

When BabyGirl was tiny, there was a commercial for Wal-Mart jewelery at Christmas time. A woman was telling about her husband buying her a birthstone ring for Christmas & when she pointed out that it was beautiful, but it wasn't her birthstone he answered, "Of course not. It's the baby's." That commercial made mecry every time I saw it.

At Christmas we had gifts piled under the tree but none were for me. I thought it was a little strange as Husband isn't big on holidays, but has never not gotten me a gift for Christmas. QM & Daddy were there and we were all opening our gifts & very much enjoying watching BabyGirl try to eat sparkly tissue paper while wearing a fuzzy feathered winter hat her Grammy gave her.

Suddenly Husband crawled up under the tree & came out with a small box. I was a little confused until he handed it to me and I realized it was only the right size for one thing: Jewelery. I opened the paper to see the logo of a small family owned jewelers stamped on the box & inside was a beautiful gold, box chain necklace with a small ring on it. The ring looks just like a tiny woman's ring with a birthstone set in it...BabyGirl's birthstone. I cried.

When #1 Son was about 6 months old, we went back to the jewelers and got the ring with his birthstone in it (Husband joked that he was waiting until we decided if #1 Son was a 'keeper' or not). It looks like a miniature man's ring. When B.B. was about 3 months old we got his ring.

Last night I left Husband a note asking if he was going to the doctor's with me today. Instead of his usual Yes or No he wrote. "Yes, have the boys ready to go when BabyGirl goes to school. We'll drop her off and leave from there (30 minutes earlier than needed). Wear your necklace & we will get Bitsy's charm."

It is my birthday present & was going to be a day early, but when we got there we found out they have to order a pearl to mount in the charm. Now I have to wait until my next doctor's appointment in two weeks. Oh well...such is life. But this time I'll have the charm before the baby's here. I'm excited.

If you like, you can read my brief pregnancy rant...if not, stop reading now.
I realize that at 120 pounds, I do not look like most women who are 8 months pregnant, but PLEASE do not say to me, "Oh, you finally are starting to look pregnant. But then you never really look pregant..." It just irritates me.

Oh, I can so relate. At 155 lbs, people were saying that to me. I got to the point where I actually said, "why, thank you, but I certainly feel pregnant." And thanked the dear stranger who told me I looked like I was due any day... 5 days before Baby Bear was born.
