Yikes! Yesterday I was cleaning the house in preparation for Princess, HT, and Bubba's visit today, when I heard the door being messed with. I went to tell the kids to stay away from the door (the don't go out on their own, but have been known to open it) and there stood Husband. It was 7:30 pm...he doesn't get off work until 12:40 am. I asked him what he was doing home and he said after the third time in an hour he'd vomited he thought it was time to go home. I don't think I've ever really seen him with a stomach bug. He thought it was food poisoning, but since we'd all been sick at some point in the past week, I'm not so sure.
He crashed for the night at about 8 o'clock and I bunked in with BabyGirl. This morning he was feeling a bit better but the fridge was leaking water all over the floor. Our ice maker water pipe had sprung a leak and the drywall and cabinets were soaking up the water. Husband had to run to town to get a cap to fix it. In the meantime, I took the kids and headed to Bucka and Busha's where Bubba and Princess were staying.
We'd been there for a while when Princess brought up a box from Art full of clothes for the kids and two more books. Then she brought me a bag full of books from QM, a letter from Daddy about my blog and the computer crashing and that he doesn't believe in coincidence, and a hair bow for BabyGirl. Shortly after I opened all that, Bubba's phone rang. It was Mama. He said no, he hadn't given it to me yet. Yes, he'd get it in a minute. Just be patient. I was sitting on the couch holding HT when Bubba brought up a big box wrapped in brown paper addressed to my entire clan. It was signed "Love, Abba."
I handed the baby off to his mom and sat on the floor to unwrap it and before I pulled the paper away, I realized what was under it. Daddy and Mama got us a new computer. I nearly cried. I had pretty much given up hope on having a computer and Internet connection ever again.
It's an emachines desktop with Windows Vista and an Intel Celeron D...not that any of that means much to me, but I am happy as a lark. NM (our resident computer geek) came over and set it all up for us tonight (turns out Daddy had called him earlier in the week to ask him about my crash). Vista needs to download drivers or something like that, so it's pretty slow at the moment, but that should be short lived. Vista will take some time to get used to, but I'll get it eventually.
Until then I may post infrequently and might not be able to keep up with yours, but I'll do my best.
For now, all I can say is, Thank you so very much QM and Daddy! I'm pretty sure you know just how much this means to me.

Hurray! Thank you QM from the rest of us too! I have been trying since yesterday to figure out how to get one of Jay's spare/good-for-getting-on-the-internet-but-little-else computers to you. Talked to him about it today in fact.. but now he can donate to the people he was thinking of donating it to. So all is well with the world again. And I am happy to have the Farmwife back.
100,000,000 Billion thank yous to QM and Daddy for your computer..I love you!!!!!!
I had something in the works going with hubby here, about a solution, but it looks like QM's and Daddy's solution was much better.
Oh you don't know what joy this brings to my heart and the tears that fill my eyes as I read this. I mean this with all love and sincerety..

YAHOO!!!!!!!! I had just messaged some people on a message board to see if anyone had a computer they could spare when you made your post last night. Go figure!
THANK YOU FarmWife's Parents!
p.s. Hope Farm Boy gets over the stomach bug quickly.
Thank you so much for your efforts, Ladies! It means so much that you were all working for us as well!
We just got back from the Promised Land and I read Thursday's post first and thought, "Yes! We can run our desktop down to them right now!"
Then I read the next post, and realized you don't need it. Rats. I mean, wonderful for you, but rats for us. :) We can't sell it (older model), we don't want to throw it away, and everybody we know has a computer already.
But I am very happy that none of us have to miss ya, Farm Wife.
Did you get my e-mail? The funny thing is, I e-mailed before I got your comment asking me to.
I, too, was on the hunt for a computer for you.
You are essential to blogdom!
