The Big Swim

We went, we swam, I want to sleep! In all it wasn't a bad trip. BabyGirl's swimming suit was AWOL this morning (she's been wearing it around the house all week), and I was irritated. I had a major hormone swing first thing this morning (as you may have noticed from the last post) & not being able to find the suit was the straw that broke the camel's back. Husband found it with in the first 10 minutes he was up...that should have helped, but it didn't really. It just irritated me further (major hormonal swing). After I sat in the bathroom floor and cried for a minute, I crawled back in bed.

The nap was unsuccessful as I kept dreaming that I was trying to nap and kept being jolted awake by kids coming in to ask me things. In the end, I was asleep the entire time (until they began screaming in reality & I did jolt awake. I woke up more worn out than I was when I went back to bed.

It started to rain as we were getting ready to leave, and we drove through a little sleet. I was worried that we'd get there only to be turned out due to lightning...but we got lucky. We got to swim for an hour, got dressed, picked up LJS, and headed out of town before the storm got serious.

The water was cold and the boys spent the first 20 minutes sitting on the side shivering. B.B. kept saying, "Me no swim. It cold!" And #1 Son would jump in for 2 minutes then scramble out to, "warm up for a minute." BabyGirl, on the other hand, didn't want to get out until her dad took her down to jump off the diving blocks. Every time I turned around she was half way down the pool by herself. #1 Son finally decided he could swim by himself (the 2 older kids have floaty suits) so I could stand by the pool steps while B.B. tromped up and down them. No one (but me) really wanted to get out, but after an hour in cold water, I was done. The kids lips were purple, and everyone was getting hungry.

Now I'm hoping everyone will go to bed early, and sleep hard and late in the morning.

Just remember that pregnancy, although it feels eternal, is not. It will end, and then you can move on. I definitely feel your pain. I just had my 3rd 4 months ago, and I feel like a human again.

By the sounds of what you write, I too hope they did sleep long this morning, and I think they must have because the whole enterprise sounds pretty exhausting...
I hope you slept well too...
I wouldn't have had your courage I think, to go into the cold water, etc.

Please do find a way to get some rest!!!!!

Rest will be in sight and it sounds like you deserve it.

The good thing about swimming, tends to wear us all down to the core and gives you a great sleep.

Here's hoping you get well-deserved rest.
