Once I Had a Secret Love

OK, so grounding myself didn't go quite as planned. What can I say? What I lack is not the ability to do what is needed. What I lack is the discipline & desire. "I'm bored. B-O-R-D, bored." I don't want to do laundry, or dishes, or run the sweeper, or make noodles. I want to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. But my kids are awake, so I can't. I'm tired, but I cannot nap for above said reason. I want to blog, but I have nothing to blog about...except my boredom. But it's all OK, because James Brown loves me.

OK, since this is Confessions of a City Gal, I'll make a confession. Grace, I harbored a monstrous crush on your brother for the better part of 3 years. Sixth and Seventh Grade being the worst by far. And the thing I hated most of all about the whole thing? My best friend was his girl friend the entire time. Oh well, I think I'm pretty well over him now...seeing as I've been married for 9 years...actually going to college with him kind of killed my crush. Not that he isn't a great guy, mind you, but by then I'd realized the futility of the situation. :) Can you imagine, if I'd have had my 6th grade heart's desire, you and I would be In-Laws.

All 3 of the kids have snail ornaments. If you pull the ladybug, a tape measure rolls out and you can record their height each Christmas. Q.M., do you have snails for H.T. and the new baby? Or have we depleted your stash?

You're hilarious!! He was such a dork back then. Of course being his big sister I'm a tad prejudice on that subject. He was also a big pain in the bahooney. It's actually quite remarkable he turned out the way he did... a fairly descent looking, productive member of society ( even if he is a republican). I think at least 1/2 the girls in your age group liked him at some point between middle school and high school. Of course he started dating Mrs. Clean when you guys were juniors so he was offically unavailable at that point!!

By the way, do you ever hear from Swiss Miss (Bro's former middle school girlfriend)? I think about her occasionally and wonder where she's at and what she's doing.
