Bye, Bye Love

They're gone! 20 Piglets have left the farm this morning; off to seek their fame and fortune in the world...Or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Much like Wilbur of Charlotte's Web fame, I am sure they will all find a little girl to love them, a spider to protect them, and win special awards at the state fair with the help of an overindulged rat. Yeah, right.

Husband has loaded them all up in the back of our little pick up and hauled them off to their new home. He'll come home with cash in hand and I'll be a happy little Farm Wife. Darlin' I love you, but give me Park Avenue. It is a little like Green Acres around here.

Another mini-frenzy struck yesterday which caused me to bake cookies, do 5 or 6 loads of laundry, and shampoo the living room carpet, after cooking out on the grill and doing lawn work while the kids played. Did you know that if you wait 30 minutes after putting your kids in bed the white noise of a vacuum and rug cleaner won't wake them? And on top of it, you can shampoo an entire livingroom (or in my case half a great room) without once screaming, "Get out of the way!!! I can't vacuum when you're setting on the sweeper!!!"

But then the next morning, don't be surprised if someone (#1 Son) poops on your newly shampooed carpet while you're out side helping load piglets into the back of the pick up. Thank the Good Lord for Scotch Guard! I'm all out or I'd do the other half tonight...But I do love sitting here looking at the great expanse of open empty space in my living room. I'm dreading moving the furniture back. That's never fun.

Little BIL will be home tomorrow. He flies into Indy just before midnight tonight. It should be interesting to see how the kids react to him. When he came home at Christmas Baby Girl was scared that he may
have turned into someone else when he joined the Army. Once she realized he was still Uncle L. BIL, she was thrilled to see him. #1 Son never hesitated. B.B. Kept looking at him as though BIL was someone he knew from a past life. But then he was just over a year old.

Look at the tiny egg our hens left yesterday. We've had a few of them before, but this one's the smallest by far.

Easter is nearly upon us. Have I bought anything to put into the eggs? Nope. Have I gotten the eggs out to wash? Nope. Do I have basket fillers? Nope. Does Baby Girl have her Mary Janes? Nope. I did pick up matching green Polo shirts for the boys. They'll cover both Easter and Inkling's wedding. Thank heaven for Art. Her Sid is almost exactly 3 years older than Baby Girl so she sends us hand me downs galore. Art just mailed me a dress, hat, and jacket for Baby Girl to wear on Easter...And other unknown goodies. Can I just say, I may not sleep tonight, and if the package doesn't get here tomorrow (2-3 days, tomorrow being day 2) I may just lock myself in the bathroom and cry? Yup, that's the plan!

Husband's cousin's wedding shower is this weekend. Do I have a gift yet? Nope. A card? Nope. An idea? Nope. I am so prepared it's frightening!
One last pic of the piggies so you can cope with their departure...They will be missed...OK, so not really. Besides, the sows are pregnant again anyway. 3 months, 3 weeks, 3 days and we should have more.

The answer to the question "What do dogs have to do with fiber?" is Great Pyrenees aren't for shearing, they are Livestock Guard Dogs (LGD). They keep all the fibery stuff safe from ky-oats. :) I swear if you said 'coyote' here, people would have no idea what you're talking about.

So "this little pig went to market" is a true story. Love the Avitar to go with it.

I just have to ask - what is the background for the egg and quarter?

Those piggies are sooooooo cute. It makes me want to do the little toes-little piggies rhyme.

Those little piggies are so super cute and I would love to have one of them, except we live in the suburbs! :-(

Did, the back ground is my tea towel you brought me from GB!!! I love it! Thinking about framing it and hanging it on the kitchen wall.

Cate, Husband thought I should have titled the post "this little piggy went to market..." LOL
