Chuck E. Cheese's and Dog Crates

Well, I must say, if you're looking for a quiet place to have a Valentine's lunch with your sweetheart, and it's a week day during the school year, try Chuck E. Cheese's. I won't say the place was empty, but we didn't have to wait in line to ride/play anything. And our pizza was done and on the table before we'd made half a lap around the room.

And that saying about it being a small world was true today. I ran into my favorite librarian at Chuck E. Cheese's.

She worked at the library in the little town Husband and I lived in when we were first married. I was quite the Library junky (we couldn't afford to buy the amount of books I read pre-children) and she was not only very helpful, but very kind and caring. She followed my pregnancies with great interest (as a matter of fact, the library was the first place I took my infant Baby Girl on my own), listened when I needed an ear, and prayed when I needed more.

I hadn't seen her since shortly after #1 Son was born. I was thrilled to see her today. She's no longer a librarian and has recently quit working all together. She told me today that she is having a hysterectomy on Thursday and asked if I would pray for her. If you think about it, please pray for my librarian on Thursday.

The kids had a ball, and Husband and I had a pretty good time as well. I even got to play a little Skeeball. I used to be pretty good at it. That comes from dating a video game junky in high school. I had to find something to amuse myself while he spent hours battling zombies, robots, and mutants at the Fun Tunnel! I'm sadly out of practice now. When we win the lottery/inherit our fortune I'll have to have a skeeball lane put in the basement!

After we ran out of tokens, we made a run to PetSmart in preparation for March 1st. That's when Luke comes home. As you can see above we got a new crate for him. Oddly enough, when he comes home he should fit nicely in Andrew's kennel. In 9 months, he'll fill up that monstrosity. We're considering using it to restrain the children until then. They all had to try it out as soon as Husband set it up. I got some great pictures, but Husband (like Cynical) doesn't allow pictures of the family to be posted (not that I'd do it anyway). Baby Girl thinks it's a great place to hide and eat her snacks so her brothers can't get to her.

We're making a calendar to count down the days until March 1st. That way maybe I won't be asked 15 times a day, "Is it time to got pick up our puppy?" Of course the sun might stop setting in the west... You just never know.

All in all it has been a very good Valentine's Day. I even came home to a touching rendition of I Just Called to Say I Love You on my answering machine. Thanks, Art! I love you too!

Wow, That's the same cage that greets me every day at the gkids when I walk in their basement door. Their dog sleeps in it every night, and she seems to really love it!

When you hit the lottery/inherit the fortune, I'm hoping for an invitation to the basement. ;)

God loves skeeball, 'Dogma' sez so.
