Mom vs Bedrooms (Mom 2- Bedrooms 1/2)

"Yes, Mom.  We cleaned our room.  No, Mom we did not shove everything under our bed."

They weren't lying.  They shoved it all under their chests of drawers.

I'm in the middle of a pre-Christmas purge.  If we're going to bring anything else into this house, quite a bit of stuff must first leave.  BabyGirl and I tackled the girls' room on Friday while their dad was at work and the three youngest played outside.

She was a Toss-it Queen.  She didn't feel well and that might have helped, but the girl didn't let sentiment stand in her way.  I'd hold up an item and she'd decide to toss or keep in the blink of an eye.  It was like a mini-episode of Horders.  Doctor Robin would have been so proud.  I won't lie.  I was floored.  This is the same girl who keeps every piece of paper and broken Mardi Gras bead necklace she's ever stumbled upon.

Unfortunately the boys do not have the same drive their sister has.  In fact, the boys are quite the opposite.  They fall to pieces if you so much as mention throwing away something.  B.B. would like to keep every piece of paper ever sent home from school.  As you can tell by the picture above, he's decided a good place to store it all is under his chest of drawers.  I could paper their bedroom walls with the scraps of notebook paper he's saved.

Husband and the FarmHands went outside after lunch today to enjoy the last hurrah of Indian Summer.  I watched Young Guns and napped on the couch.  Once the dogs decided I'd napped long enough, I headed into the black hole where my boys live.  One stuffed full trash can later there are still things I'd like to toss.  I'm just hoping they don't notice what all is missing.

If they do, I may have to enter the witness protection program.
