It is a small sort of accomplishment, I guess.

The phone rang at 5:30 this morning.

I worked from 6:30 to 2.

Helped Mama move stuff around in Busha & Bucka's garage.

Got home 5 minutes before the FarmHands got off the bus.

Baked & decorated cookies for B.B.'s class tomorrow.

Washed my table cloth.

Washed my van.

Did dishes.

Folded 3 loads of laundry.

Loaded & ran dishwasher.

Made pizza for the FarmHands.

Is this what it's like to be a working mother?

Yes, it's exactly what it's like. Good news though, if I can do it, anyone can. I love you.

I realize "Washing my table cloth" sounds a bit lame but you must understand that it involves excavating my dining room table from under weeks worth of catch-all mess.

Lydia, you have always amazed me. Now, even more so.

It is indeed what "working" moms do! PS - you ARE a working Mom - you don't sit around and play games and do nothing all day, right?!?!

Sorry - personal soapbox, I get really frustrated when people think at-home parents don't work. Just because you don't go to a workplace other than your home, or get paid a salary, doesn't mean you don't work...

NOW, good job you - I know it's been a HUGE adjustment to think of working at anything other than "just" being a Mom...

Keep up the good work, and you just might surprise yourself!

I don't think anyone implied that stay at home moms don't work. Any mother knows that simply isn't true. I think Farmie only meant employed outside the home when she said working. If there ever was a stay at home mother who worked, it was Farmie. BTW, you have always amazed me. I'm fairly certain you always will. It certainly isn't fun, meshing employment with all your motherly duties but somehow it all gets done, at least the important things do, ;).

I know Art...I read and posted my comment yesterday after being told by a corporate female with no children how she envied me my at-home parent status because it was "so easy" with "no work to do"...

I agree with you that Farmie meant the new job, and I admire those Moms who DO work outside the home AND do the "normal" mom stuff!!!

And we learn early on what our priorities as parents are when we have to work away from the house, don't we?

Sigh...I should never post when I'm hot under the collar!
