When I filled my script I scanned through the papers that came with it. One of the first things I noticed was that the medication could take up to four weeks to take effect. I called someone I know (I don't want to out anyone) who's on a similar medication & was told she felt the effects in about three days.
Had I not heard that, I would be pretty sure that this is all in my head. The last two days I've felt better, calmer, less easily frustrated. Until I was feeling better, I didn't really realize this was something I was dealing with on a daily basis. Yeah, I know I have a short fuse, I know I get overwhelmed, but I've chalked it up to having four young kids & not enough hours in the day.
Now I'm wondering if it wasn't something more.
Not that I haven't been frustrated or upset the past three days, but it's been a much more mellow kind of upset. I let things roll off that aren't really important, but would have sent me into a tizzy before.
Is this possible? Can I already be feeling the effects of my meds or is it all psychosomatic? Makes me really curious to see what will happen around the ninth of next month.

Hey - all in your mind, or instant effectiveness - who cares, as long as you're feeling better able to cope!
the bottom line is life is more managable, and you are feeling much better..That is what counts. ((((hugs))) and here's to hoping more days ahead are happy
I remember that feeling. I was on Prozac some years ago now and it worked wonders. When I came off it the calmness seemed to continue and when I did/do get angry I know how to cope with it more. Good for you. Sarah x
Past Prozac user here! Worked well but watch your dreams. I was on Prozac over a year and sometimes they affect people differently. Google it and you will know if you are dealing with any adverse side effects.
It worked very well for me.
