The Toddler Rules

Last night Husband & I watched Georgia Rule. It got slammed by the critics & didn't do well in theaters at all, but I thought it was a good movie. Not an easy movie to watch by a long shot, but I still thought it was interesting. I did love how Jane Fonda's character had rules that everyone had to live by. No one is unfixable- Georgia Rule. Be in time for dinner or wait for breakfast- Georgia Rule.

Around here, we're living by the Toddler Rules. They go like this:

1. It's Mine if I like it.
2. It's Mine if I think it's mine.
3. It's Mine if it looks just like mine.
4. It's Mine if it's in my hand.
5. It's Mine if I can take it from you.
6. It's Mine if I had it for a while.
7. It's Mine if it's yours & I take it.
8. It's Mine if it's left at my house.
9. It's Mine & can't be yours in anyway!
10. It's Mine! Mine! Mine!

It's hard enough dealing with the bickering of the three older FarmHands, but now, in the grand tradition of people about to be two years old, Bitsy's new favorite word is "Mine!" The Queen Mother & Daddy bout BabyGirl a T-shirt with the Toddler Rules emblazoned on the front. I just got it out for Bitsy this weekend. When I dug it out to type the rules here, she started yelling, "Mine! Mine!"
