Perhaps, Perchance

We are bracing for an ice storm. Perhaps we'll get nothing (my preference) or perhaps we'll get an inch and a half of snow & ice. And perhaps I'll go stir crazy sitting in this house.

I can't complain. We've been on the run for 2 days. Yesterday I took the FarmHands to Bucka & Busha's to visit. We stopped by the post office to get stamps, but discovered it's only open from 8 to 9:45 on Saturdays. Huh?! But in the end I got all my cards mailed off & we had a nice visit with Busha.

Last night was the big in-law family dinner at Uncle E's. I made Grandma M&M's cranberry salad & Aunt Anita's broccoli casserole to take. It's nice to have a bit of the familiar incorporated when you join another family's traditions. We sat & visited, passed out cards, ate too much, and played games until an hour past the FarmHands' bedtime. Turns out Husband is a Jenga master....at least when his opponent is our eleven year old niece who he talked smack to the entire time!

After church today, the FarmHands & I went back to Uncle E's for lunch. We all gather together & finish off most of the leftovers & visit some more. Husband went to town after toilet paper, tape (so I can finally wrap the gifts that have been in my closet for 2 months), and a dog house for Bonpas.

Now we're lounging around watching the Heffalump movie & I'm avoiding my dishes & the laundry. I figure if we're snowed/iced in tomorrow that will give me something to do. As though I never have anything to do....

If we don't get snow, we just might get blown away by the wind. It's horrible!

There's nothing better than waiting for an ice/snow storm! The news stations start hyping it like the end of the world is coming. I like it best when they get all excited for 1/4" of rain...
