This is so much easier than I thought

I really thought this TV thing would be the end of me. I will fully admit to being an addict. I would get up in the morning & turn on the Today show and the TV would be on until I turned it off after Scrubs at 11 pm. Even if I wasn't watching, it was always on. Kids are resilient. I knew they'd bounce back quickly. I, on the other hand, planned on spending at least 3 days in the fetal position moaning about King of the Hill and John & Kate Plus 8.

Monday morning, when he discovered Spongebob was no more in our house, #1 Son burst into tears. He was broken hearted until time to leave for school. He's not mentioned the evil yellow one since. B.B. has asked a few times why we "can't watch shows we don't pick out." But even then, he's not really suffered from lack of TV time.

The biggest surprise is that I'm coping pretty well. Husband watched 2 episodes of NCIS yesterday afternoon. I watched part of one with him while I ate lunch, then hit the bathrooms to scrub. Last night I watched a slightly fuzzy House on the one station we pick up with our rabbit ears followed by Fringe which I'm still not sure I like. Then I (gasp) went to bed early & read Little Women.

If you're considering this at all, I say go for it. Now I wouldn't suggest going completely TV free, especially if you have small children. But I'm loving the complete lack of stupid cartoons & the Caught on Video shows Husband loves. Veggie Tales, Pixar, Disney, Baby Einsteins....they keep the kids occupied long enough for me to do some serious chores & sneak in a shower. The rest of the time, we're keeping busy....and my house is much cleaner.

But it's only day 3.

And there's always facebook.

Way to go! It's amazing how you suddenly find all those hours in the day that you didn't know were there anymore, rght?!?

I'm proud of you! Who knew that there was life outside of TV?

I'm actually catching a silent moment myself before I hit the final stretch for packing...almost there...just a few more things that inevitably pop up in my mind the day before we leave...OY!

Aww... glad you are doing so well. My kids are more addicted to playing on the computer, webkins is their current favorite.

Oh, and the John and Kate vow renewal was so cute!
