Diamonds are redeeming themselves

It's here & it's lovely. I thought the old one was .48 carats but it was actually .43 carats. I thought, "Big whoop, can't be that different." The new one is .50 carats on the dot. Husband and I were amazed at the difference .07 of a carat can make. I think the new stone compliments my original band very well. When he picked it out, Husband wanted a thicker band thinking it wouldn't wear out as quickly. I only wish the picture did it justice. Taking pictures of your own hand is not an easy task.

When he was shopping for my engagement ring, Husband wanted a half carat. There wasn't one available in our little neck of the woods. So, as QM said this morning, "Now you have the diamond FarmBoy wanted for you." She's right & that's how I'm going to look at it....even if I always check for loose sparkles in my bathroom floor.

Now I need to take my wedding band in for a good polish so she looks as good as her sister.

In case you missed the saga of my ring, you can go back here & read what happend.

That's wonderful! As my Nana used to say, "Wear it in the best of health"! I got a ring for Christmas this year, so I know your dilemma of photographing it. I finally took both off and laid them together in an artful way, or at least I like to think it was artful. Is artful a word? Anyway. It's beautiful and I love QM's thinking!
