Shake, Shake, Shake Seniora

I am destined to sleeplessness tonight. BabyGirl didn't tuck in easily tonight (she had an unfortunate run in with B.B.'s cat & Bonpas while playing outside & needed extra attention) so my bath was late & I was not ready to turn in until nearly 11 pm. Lately I've been trying to skip at least the last episode of Scrubs if not the last two in exchange for a bit more sleep.

At 12:30 I was awakened (yet again) by shaking. 3.3 according the USGS. I'm beginning to worry about this new predilection our area has for shifting about. I've heard (through the grapevine) that because our quake was not followed by 24-48 hours of after shocks, but weeks of aftershocks, that the initial quake may be considered a pre-quake (or some such thing) & it greatly increases our risk for something much more significant (like a 6.0). All this worry leads me to think we may need to reconsider our trip down into a cave in 3 weeks. Um......

Then at about 2:30 this morning, the potty chair began spouting positive affirmations again. I'm not sure who turned it back on. Having a small child that does not belong to you state, "All Done!" at 2:30 in the morning will really freak you out!

At 3:30 Bitsy decided the living room needed a good talking too, so here we are. She's alternately nursing (which incidentally she still does about 3-4 time during the night....Oy), crawling around yelling at the carpet, and watching Baby Einstein. Because she's up, Lilly May needed to be up too. Can't miss a party, that one.

As much as I want to keep Bitsy forever suspended in a state of babyhood, I also wish she'd just cut those top two teeth so we can all sleep!

I'm sorry about all the quakes. It's crazy. You don't live in California! I'd be scared too.

We used to have a lot of talking toys and when they went off in the middle of the night it always scared the fool out of me. Especially b/c they usually did that when the batteries were low- so not did it talk out of the blue but it sounded like the devil.

I'm glad we're not the only ones with random talking toys...3am this morning...and we had a cell phone ringing in the family room...scared the snot out of me, and then I couldn't go back to sleep...

As for Bitsy's teeth...they'll get there eventually...in the meantime, take a deep breath, feed your kids some Jack Daniels, and then take a nap.

OK, ok...so feeding the kids liquor is wrong, don't call CPS on her anyone...or on me...but take a shot yourself...you'll feel much better!

Hugs!

Bitsy sounds much like my little one. She was still nursing quite frequently at night at that age. She was a horrible sleeper, but is beginning to come around. She currently sleeps from 9p.m.-3:30a.m. and then wants to cuddle in bed with Mommy and Daddy. She occassionally nurses at 3:30.

It doesn't sound like much, but when your child never slept for more than 3 hours consecutively from birth, 9-3:30 is great! I treasure every moment with her in the night. She'll probably be our only baby, so I'm hanging on to it.

As you know, it will be gone before you know it and she'll be off to her big girl bed.

I would be freaking out if my ground was shaking!

That would be so weird to have a talking potty chair! LOL

Now I know why I'm so screwed up. My training potty most certainly did *not* spout affirmations. In fact, I think it was wooden. Although, maybe if I had one, it would have told me that girls cannot pee like boys - which I apparantly tried.

And, just for getting the Shake, Shake, Shake song in my head this morning, right back at you:
