Bitsy Bee the Phony Queen of England

Camille is on. I love Greta Garbo. This movie always makes me want to watch Annie. Go figure.

My peonies are blooming. Gloriously. Fragrantly. Magnificently. Stupid Evil Blogger will not let me post the gobs of pictures I took for you...in my front yard...in my pj's....at 9:30 this morning.

The kids are zipping around the yard in their Powerwheels John Deere Gator. Uncle Little BIL got it for them a few years ago for Christmas. It's not been running properly this summer. Yesterday Husband dismantled it & fixed it. Now they're all Hellen Wheels in the yard...as long as they stay the heck away from my peonies!

Bitsy is a toddler. At least that's what her siblings keep screeching at me as she stumbles across the living room in her halting, faltering, mad dash of a gait. She doesn't just toddle. She throws both hands as high in the air as she can, grunts loudly, and lunges at the nearest object of intrest. It's so funny to watch....and a little heartbreaking. When she gets where she's going, she drops on the floor & looks at us amazed that she made it that far.

She's still sucking her first two fingers upside down (they're developing callouses from her bottom teeth...she now has 5 teeth in all). But she's added another comfort to it. Now she rubs her ear with her right hand while she sucks the fingers on her left hand. Much like Prince John the Phony King of England from Walt Disney's Robin Hood. If her daddy is holding her, she prefers his ear to her own.

In less than a month she'll be a year old. You hear people says, "She's six going on sixteen." Well, Bitsy's a year going on three years. She's feeling left out at the moment because she can't go out & run with the other FarmHands. She spends all day trying to get into their rooms & yelling at me from hustling her back into the living room. And the tiny thing has a temper. Oy.

Ah, the trials & tribulations of toddlerhood.

I'm a little behind on reading your blog, but I had to laugh about the kids' favorite part being Chuck E. Cheese. Whenever a kid in my class goes to Disney World and I ask them what they did and what their favorite part was, all they want to talk about is the hotel pool!

I swear we need them to just stay small..old enough to talk, respect and rely on us, but not old enough to develop raging hormones, attitudes, eye rolls and whatevers.
