Technology, Schmechnology

I dream of a life with wireless internet...or broad band...or something other than deathly slow dial-up. I dream of a day with call waiting or a cell phone (no, we don't have a cell phone....I know, we're practically cave men). I dream of a day when the FarmFamily enters the 21st century.

I've self imposed a grounding from all things phone related for the most part. If I miss a call that may sell one or more of the adorable pups that will soon be adorable horses, I may kick myself in the shins. Since we do not have call waiting and we have dial-up internet, that means I'm avoiding the phone & internet as much as possible. It's making me a little stir crazy, but it's much better than ending up with 7 extra Great Danes to feed & care for. In fact, I'm typing this in Window's Mail to send later tonight so I don't entirely miss out on blogging but don't tie up the phone lines.

The ads for the pups hit the paper yesterday. Both the local small town paper & the paper in the much larger town an hour to our south. So far I've received one call. The one call may be interested in 2 pups, but that still leaves us with 5...OK, FarmWife, calm down...there's 10 days left on the ads. I'm a bit panicky...can you tell? I get this way every time Husband tells me one of the dogs is expecting...and stay this way until all the pups are gone. I'm gonna' end up with puppy induced ulcers. I'm not cut out for running a kennel.

Until that happens I will be spending time with my children (gasp), cleaning my house obsessively (I may even tackle the tops of the kitchen cabinets this week), napping, hunting desperately for something besides blogs to read, labeling and sorting through all my digital photos, teaching myself more about Window's Vista (ugh), and eating way to many Oreos.

What a fabulous life I lead!
