If you're ever bored & want to watch a wire haired fox terrier lose her mind, just turn the puppies loose in yard (Did, did I use the words properly this time?). Husband let the kids' puppies out of their pen this weekend so they could run freely since they're old enough to stay close to home and not chew up everything we own. Lilly May knows they're out there, and it's making her crazy. She runs from window to window to french door to window panting, whining, and shaking (see photo). She wants out so bad it isn't funny.
Yesterday #1 Son accidentally let Lilly out and she was thrilled...for about 30 seconds. Then she realized there are 3 of them and only one of her. Annie, Star, and Crystal chased her and jumped on her, and sniffed her, and licked her, and thought she was a wonderful toy. Lilly May made a mad dash all the way around the house (with me & #1 Son chasing her & her entourage yelling for her to come back) and up on the stoop. She came in and had her bath (it was much needed before her romp). You'd think after that , she'd give up her fight to get back out with them, but you'd be wrong.
I've learned many things from B.B. in the past few weeks. Most of them relate to Bitsy and what she likes. For example, Bitsy wants B.B. to hold her every morning as soon as the two older kids leave for school. She tells him so. But it gets a little twisted in the translation. "Her wants a hold me, Mommy. Her telled me her wants a hold me." Apparently, she also likes to be patted with some force on the belly, likes to be "bite-ed nice" on the hand, & likes to be licked. It really doesn't matter that I don't think she likes these things. She tells her big brother that she does indeed like them.
And B.B. has been a baby quite a bit lately. "Big babies tan sit, Mom. Big babies always eat, Mom. Big babies like tandy, Mom. Big babies always bite, Mom. Dem tan't poop in da potty." I'm not sure I like big babies as all they seem to do is cry for candy, bite, and refuse to poop. I drew the line when he informed me that, "Big babies always eat Mamma bites." Mama bites is our term for nursing. Sorry, son. We're not going there.
I just went in the bathroom to check on B.B. He's setting on his little blue potty chair, reading The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. Oy.
