Indian Summer & goodies from Art

If you live in the Midwest, you may have noticed it being slightly warmer than normal for October...Oh, who am I kidding? It's really freaking hot here! I've about had it with Indian Summer. Today's high is supposed to be 92 according to the E'ville weather stations. When they say 92 it means at least 95 at my house. Friday it was 94 by 2 in the afternoon. It's OCTOBER people!! The cool, crisp air should be blowing through my open windows. Instead I'm holed up indoors praying that the air conditioning doesn't go out. I should be happily baking banana bread & making apple sauce, not dreading turning on the stove. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big lover of cold weather, but there comes a time when a girl needs to dig out her sweaters & light a fire in the fire place.

And it would be nice if the leaves actually changed colors before the fall off instead of just dying from heat and drought. I'd send about 20 degrees of this to the Northwest for Ang, FarmFairy, and Inkling to enjoy if I could.

Just so you know, none of the pups have sold yet. Please pray that people would start showing more interest in them. I'm trying not to stress, but it isn't easy.

Today is Bucka's gall bladder surgery. If all goes well, it should be a breeze. Please pray for him as well.

Because of Bucka's surgery, QM is here. She brought me a goodie box from Art with two sweaters, some beautiful glass flower magnets she and Did picked up on their trip last month, a "Honk if you're Amish" bumper sticker, a length of pink John Deer fleece to make a blanket for Bitsy, an adorable brown dress for Bitsy, and a Farm Girl diaper bag made from pink John Deer material that matches the blanket fabric. It's so cool! I'll try to get pictures soon.

The kids are off school today for Columbus Day and I'm already ready to sell them to the gypsies. It's only 8 am! This does not bode well for the rest of the day.
